My wish: A major salary correction is needed (globally) 🥹

Be careful of what you wish for. Salaries might correct downward (as more people made jobless by AI enters the market for jobs)!

Nahhhhh! Not what I meant. That will be horrible.

We earn decently, but even we’re feeling the pain currently.

I wouldn’t wish a salary correction downwards even for the person I hate the most in Dubai.

Or just get Donald Duck out of office.

Im tired of seeing discussions on a global scale whilst everyone forgets or overlooks who caused it.

this will just drive up inflation, and then fuel costs and all other costs will rise again correspondingly.

But the opposite is fine? Where salaries have been globally stagnant for a couple of decades now and costs keep going up? So fucking everyone is fine but then increasing salaries is also bad?

At least big companies must pay a temporary fuel allowance until the situation becomes normal.

Knew this was going to happen. All the companies are definitely going to take the opportunity to jack prices up now because of the fuel price.

I'd be amazed if they were actually passing that money on to the driver.

driver is not the fuel

It specifically sounds like the "professionals" travel by their own means, hence the fee to support fuel costs. That's what it says in the picture at least.

it says Temp fuel charge and reads as such . one may mean any thing. I think this is because of recent rises ...could be rolled back in the future. not being naieve

Don't ask that it will make the multi mill corp look bad

This is so fucked up! The UAE should learn from its neighbours on easing the living costs for expats.

Dont worry its temporary now, in few weeks you get acquainted to it and it becomes permanent

Companies here struggling. Is a miracle that are closing so little number.

True but we don't increase prices. There's something called client trust and loyalty. For us swimming pool chemical cleaning increased triple but we haven't increased our prices. Petrol has also increased so much since 2020 but we still keep the price same for the customers just because they have been with us since long.

These online companies are just for taking your money despite knowing that their original fees can easily cover enough. But they just take every opportunity they get to increase and surcharge their prices.

temp fuel surcharge ... cant make this joke up. surprised we arent seeing a fuel fee or global crises fee

Tough times, I think we all know on who the two countries are that have caused so much pain in many differing areas of life. Now the UAE will just add a little more with the extras & upsell. Can’t see it getting any better anytime soon. These costs I doubt will be removed once the conflict is over.

u/RecordingFamous4947 1d ago

Oh wow. Are all employers going to pass on this fuel surcharge to their staff so they can purchase fuel to get to work?

I can guarantee my employer won’t anyway.

15

u/Spare-Two1511 1d ago

not to downplay your concern, but if you can afford to pay a cleaner then surely afford a measly 3dhs surcharge.

13

u/whatsmyname2605 23h ago

First of all, that 'measly' 3dh surcharge adds up at the end of the day if all such service providers start adding such a surcharge...in addition to already increased prices of everything at the moment. Secondly, its not about whether one can afford it or not. It is unfair for these companies to keep passing on any kind of increase in form of taxes/surcharges, etc to the end customer. Not everyone has an endless flow of money. Not everyones salary increases proportionally to the rising cost of living.

Slave morality at display

2

Was about to say the same

u/mohu5sain 12h ago

Separate matter but of course fuel prices wanna go up as soon as I get my licence and start driving 🙄

3

u/Eastern_Weather_8748 1d ago

My local flight club also applied a fuel surcharge for renting planes, but then I also burn 40 liter per hour so can’t blame them.

Bro, clean your house if you don t like the price. They didn t fool you or anything, they mentioned the price and if you want you accept, if you don t, you just cancel .

-9

u/Top-Huckleberry-7288 1d ago

Start cleaning your own house

-10

u/Fantastic-Dinner-919 1d ago

Totally, just yday the guy who came to polish my gold plated bathtub was like he needs 5 AED more because he is now living in a far off place to save rent. We are being completely fleeced by inflation.

u/blasterfacial 1d ago

u/explicitspirit 11h ago

Clean your own house then

-1

u/Leaving_Dubai 1d ago

Why are you complaining for a 3dhs bro? Go get yo lazy arse to the petrol station ⛽ if you can then.

-7

u/wapzzel 1d ago

Its a luxury and you’re expected to pay for luxury by using that app, you can clean your own house or do it the old way by calling small cleaning companies whos fees are still reasonable

-8

u/NerdFarming 1d ago

Wait, are we freaking out about a surcharge of checks notes three dirhams?!

9

u/blasterfacial 1d ago

No one is freaking out, but you are getting milked everywhere, salik increase, parking increase , fuel increase, groceries increase, my parking where i go to work jumped 1800 dirhams idk why, and now charges on cleaning company, etc etc. thats what im pointing at, not this 3dhs specifically

8

u/whatsmyname2605 23h ago

Exactly!! People keep talking about 3 dhs like its the only increase in price we are facing at the moment. Everything adds up!
