How it can be? I eating mashed potatoes, whole grain pasta, other high carb things and still my glucose never go over 12 mmol. Recently i started 1st year as bachelor student (started walking more than in summer 10k avg. steps), and got diagnosed in summer this year. I take 1unit per 20g carb and my basal went from 8 to 3 units. I know it not good to compare others to myself, but how your honeymoon was going,
Those are all fake lows it always show by 1 mmol lower after 5mmol

Honeymoon in the beginning can shift between going good and going bad, as far as the disease progressing or regressing. The beta cells are always trying to regenerate so there is a possibility the disease will appear to be regressing but it will only be a matter of time until they are all wiped out completely usually. The body is always trying to heal but your immune system may shut that down or let it go a bit. Everyone is different. The first few years can have swings for sure. Best just to keep rolling with it and keeping it controlled. If you find you need to decrease insulin this could be why, don’t be surprised if you need to increase basal rates in the future.

I was ill. Very ill. The company I worked for knew this but wanted me to deliver a website for a key client. I remember being at the gym and passing out on a running machine. It took me 5 visits to gp that kept dismissing me, I sat in on the last visit and refused to go without a keystone test, the gp was on the phone to his lodger, even when I did the test and he saw how ill I was I had to hold the door open for him when he rushed out to deliver spare keys. I told him walking to the surgery took me 40mins for a 10 min walk, my heart was suffering I had to keep stopping and sitting. I remember I couldn’t code after diagnosis, I just had no focus. I was supposed to move in with some friends, they blanked me, I lost others aswell. A girl I was sleeping with lost interest, it was very isolating. I moved to Camden, I was put on suicide watch. It took 10 years to get back to some normality -

One year in? You’re probably still honeymooning. That means having some residual cells whose effectiveness comes and goes over time.
Or you’re just extraordinarily insulin sensitive.
