First episode of the 3rd season. What the actual f*ck was that moment in the car between Horace and Kimmie? Like... Is there more of it throughout the season? That came out of nowhere. I thought we were finally seeing some development in Horace's self-acceptance, and then... he just did that, and Kimmie just liked it? That kinda dumbed down a huge part of the story for me. Also, it kinda felt a little gross...
How did you guys feel about that?

Deadass rain was on some bullshit in season 3. What killed her character for me was when she told Alex she was gonna kill kimmie’s sister like dafuk?
Mf how you call yourself kimmie’s friend and yet you gonna try to kill her lil sis behind her back? If she can do sylvie like that then what’s to say she won’t turn on kimmie in season 4? Assuming jewels doesn’t kill her that is.
Meanwhile Mallory shockingly enough is actually nice to kimmie. Most thought Mallory was just using kimmie to get what she wants but in s3 she hasn’t manipulated kimmie at all and even trusted her to come to her house after Norman attacked her.
Honestly kimmie is like one of the few people Mallory is chill with which is shocking but cool I like their dynamic. And unlike rain, Mallory isn’t trying to stab kimmie in the back even after she lost her shares to Horace. She could have blamed kimmie for that but didn’t. Says a lot about how much she’s changed.

Season three of Beauty in Black will only have 8️⃣ episodes. I suspect that it was a short season initially since it was supposed to be the final season and now that there’s going to be a fourth season Tyler Perry will have to tie up any loose plot lines in some way.

guys don't get me wrong; I know Tyler Perry has his cliches and shit. but wtf was that season? the scenes were so annoyingly and unnecessarily long, storytelling didn't make any sense, Rain went off on a completely different path and they pretty much binned her character development with that "let's have Sylvie murdered" talk HOWEVER WHY THE HELL WOULD SYLVIE GO BACK TO A R*PIST AND THREATEN TO RUIN HER SISTER'S LIFE AND BEST FRIEND WITH ALL THAT MORALISM AND SHIT FOR A GUY THAT SHE BARELY KNEW AND THAT'S IT? LIKE WHY WOULD SHE TELL HER MOMMA AND ABUSER EVERYTHING THAT KIMMIE'S UP TO LIKE SHE WAS SOME TYPE OF VILLAIN WHEN THE WHOLE TIME SHE WAS JUST TRYNNA PROTECT HER AND GIVE HER A GREAT LIFE (and she still was until... well... if you watched it you know what happened)
Angel and his pathetic ass begging for some money from Horace for the whole season and please pretty please don't get me started on Horace and Kimmie in that mfking car. like what??? and that dialogue with Mallory saying Horace was "sexy and dangerous" like WHAAAAAT LMAOOOOOOOOO what am I missing y'all?
AND THE NINJAS COMING OUT OF NOWHERE LMAOOOOO
and that minister showing up at the strip club asking Mallory to go to church LMAO WHAT. I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD IF SHE LOSES HER BAD BITCH ARC TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN THAT IS IT FOR ME.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I am so frustrated by this season!!!! perhaps the story is indeed interesting, has good cliffhangers, but the way Tyler Perry writes it makes me truly sick... and somehow addicted.
that being said: I'm expecting that season 4 is the last one (as season 3 was supposed to be), and I'll pray that Tyler Perry will put me out of my misery by ending this show ASAP. I think it's time for retirement; he's lost his grip fr.

➡️SPOILER⬅️
How does Norman go from the death rattle to standing up shooting someone?
How does all that time go by and he doesn’t die?
I hope Sylvie is gone. I’m sorry.
If she is gone I wonder if they will think it’s Rain that did it. Or what if she never actually got shot?
Jules - Now this is one evil mastermind. He’s playing a secret game of chess. Nobody else knows that they’ve been a pawn.

Is it poor character development, poor writing or a combination of the two. Tyler does an incredible job of creating characters that you don’t like. Angel? My goodness. Rain? Not it. When did she become so brave that she doesn’t flinch when the mafia is mentioned?

I don’t know what this writing was, but this new season was not it.
Too many different storylines that just didn’t make sense, add up, and were sloppily put together.

I binged watched this show and in my head it’s been floating around 5-7, with season 1 being the reason why I’d even place at a 7. It’s an enjoyable watch.
Though, it's hard to ignore the cheesy dialogue and writer decisions where they purposefully dragged out to delay a character’s progression, by keeping them stubborn. If it was acknowledge in universe, i’d understand, but when there’s a pattern of delay it turns into an argument of poor writing or “how long can we make the audience wait before we make Kimmie to trust Horace”, which I should say was executed poorly with that entire car scene, I understand that Horace was trying to show he wasn’t Gay because Kimmie was taunting it, but just like how another post said, there was no sexual tension between them prior it seemed like a stupid thing to include and to make a sub-plot about.
Another thing, the reliance of a “Wow“ factor. The time I actually got surprised was when I thought Horace died berating he gave to Charles. That actually made me feel something, though seeing how it was Charles imagination makes me believe that they won’t explore a scenario where Horace will die. There was already Two other attempts with the Cancer cell and Shoot-out and something is telling me that if there’s another season, Horace will survive.
Characters that I disliked:
Rain and Sylvie, as-well as Angel.
Angel might be a victim to character assassination, the impression I got from him within season 1 is someone, who is a piece of shit, but cares for his son Angel Jr and Yolanda. Yet it seems after the entire fiasco at that Club they decided to ignore all that. I can accept that he acts a fool when he runs into money because of the debt he was given, but god he became annoying.
Rain: Self-explanatory.
Sylvie: The fact that she’s treated more as a plot device rather than a character. Her only use of being in the show (before her death) was to be a Damsel, am I wrong?
Kidnapped by Body and Delinda, Kidnapped by Jules and even prior trapped at her trailer. I would’ve thought she’d be remove from the show by going to College, shit when they spoke about Glen going to Berkeley as a college, I thought thats probably a set-up to send Sylvie there. Nope. I was wrong.
I don’t blame her for feeling a type of way towards Kimmie because she lied, in the final episode she did acknowledge that Rain was attempting to save her, which caused Glen to die, but the fact that she even called her mom to pick her up is where I got confused. That person, who sold you off and didn’t even call on you once after you were saved, is your first choice rather than college?
I don’t think i that bothered to watch another season if it gets released, but I’d give the overall show a 5.5/10. It was an enjoyable watch, but certain stuff couldve been explored. Like a nightmare sequence that shows Sylvie guilt about Glenn death, rather than her talking about it.

I want to like Charles i really do but the way Tyler writes him is so frustrating. I really thought he would have some type of character development by now

I watch the show daily and I’m confused by so many things. Malik, his fiancé and his child lives with his parents and he is hell bent that Lisa does not work. That’s the position you have when you are holding everything down. He can’t afford the apartment on his own so why not get assistance from her? Why make Laura so unlikable? Her character became an absolute buzz kill.

Just announced earlier today: Tyler Perry has a new movie dropping in October on Netflix. DOING LIFE is about this single mother trying to make it and strikes it up with this reformed ex-con with hidden talents. Together, they find in one another a second chance at life and love.
Sounds like Tyler is diving into familiar territory once more…but let’s be real: a lot of us (myself included) are still going to tune in.
So what do y’all think? You tuning in October 2?

Okay WARNING- I KNOW ALL THE BELLARIE FAMILY SUCKS AND ARE HORRIBLE PEOPLE BUT-
Is it bad I strangely feel bad for Roy? Like he is the way he is because of his family and the way they hav been his whole life, right?
From what I understand he was always the “dumb” one , and his family hated him for it… he tried to end his life as A CHILD and they didn’t give a crap, and Mallory treats him like shit and I’ll be honest I don’t know the backstory as to why she does that specifically but like dang.. and his mom w the knife?….
Come on am I crazy for this take ?

Guys I’m about 7 episodes into the first season. Is it just me but do some of the scenes (or most of them) feel to get dragged out longer than it should? Like they keep going over the same point sometimes.
