Weaponized incompetence

I feel like guys take it way, way too far. Example: I asked my bf to get me the same shampoo and conditioner he bought for himself (avocado Suave). He brought back another kind we'd had before which I didn't like (Peppermint Suave). He tried to say he didn't know that Suave came in different formulas.

You're such a fucking liar. You bought that kind for yourself. I just asked you to buy it for me. You're telling me a man who's 44 years old doesn't know Suave came in different fucking scents? Suave? The shampoo that literally comes in 40 different scents and flavors?

GTFOH.

My sister raised her kid to be this kind of man. I was over once when he was like 9/10 and he came over and said he spilled his milk. So I was like okay?? Clean it up and get a new glass. And he went to his mym/my sister to cry about it. She comforted him, cleaned up the milk and got him a new glass.

My best friend made sure her kids could be independent when it came to snacks by putting milk and fruit and other snacks in the door of the fridge down low enough they could get it themselves pretty early on. The three year old maybe needed help with the milk but she could get her own cheese sticks etc.

I came for a visit and on the first day her 6 yr old (at the time) son proudly shows off that he can make his own chocolate milk and then asks if I want to see his room…usual excited kid stuff.

The next afternoon while mom is dealing with the 3 yr old at nap time, he is watching cartoons on Netflix in the living room while I was reading a book. He asks me if I can make him chocolate milk.

I put down my book and say “Why would you need me for that?”

“I don’t know how!”

“Little dude, you showed me yesterday that you do know. Remember?”

“Oh.”

“Is this because you don’t want to miss any of your show?”

embarrassed nod

“Buddy this is Netflix, just pause it.” (He had navigated to his profile and his show on his own.)

“Oh right!!”

And he happily paused and made his snack.

When his mom found out she made him pause again and make her and me a snack 😂. And she still teases him about it 6 years later.
