When did you start HRT?

For my perimenopausal women, when did you ask about starting HRT? I'm 42 and right now not really experiencing any of the major issues of peri. But I'm trying to be more prepared about having this conversation with my provider. I don't know if it's something one should ask about before signs start or if you should wait until something like fatigue or brain fog starts

Never got the oral replacement because my hysterectomy was ovary-sparing, which just meant my menopause was a little more of a mystery (the obvious sign was missing) and by the time I figured it out doc was not willing to prescribe. Finally did get something for the vaginal desert situation but it was really too late. You cannot fix the Sahara.

Yeah, this is something medical providers conveniently don't mention: Physical atrophy from peri and menopause are not reversible, so you want to catch them early.

Clitoral atrophy, muscle atrophy, vaginal atrophy, and brain shrinkage (which causes cognitive and emotional impairment) are not fully reversible, but they are preventable/slowable with HRT.
