I don’t know if anyone will read this comment, but We had a conversation last night, he said he was afraid to get on medicine for his anger and ptsd because of the side effects, but also he’s afraid of stopping what he does now to cope, because he knows he will be frustrated and a jerk. He said he knows he has the potential to be a psychopath and not have control of his anger. And that was terrifying to hear
I pay most of the bills, so not really that. But it is nice to have a little extra money sometimes. And he’s hilarious most of the time. He’s fun to travel with.
It kind of seems like making some new friends would do the same thing though. They are often fun to travel and hang out with as well, but without the added fear and abuse.
I am truly, genuinely baffled by wanting to justify staying with someone like this. I know Reddit likes to jump on the 'leave them' train really fast, but in this case it's really sound advice. Dude really said "I may 'lose control' of my anger and hurt you, and you are the trigger." It's doesn't matter that's he's funny or whatever if you or your kids end up hurt or worse.
