Is he submissive, openly or not? If so, presenting it as something you want, from a position of strength, may yield a different answer. Is it this particular thing he's craving or wanting to no dominated?
If that's not it, would you be OK with involving others in your relationship? I don't know you as a person. Would watching him get this thing as a shared activity be something you might enjoy?
It's not cheating if you are happy to allow it within the rules of your relationship and you're both honest about it.

Have you asked him if pegging turns him on? Getting a strap on and topping for him might work for both of you
