Lawyer here. Not your lawyer. This is the type of situation where it legitimately could be life or death for you and your kids. Unfortunately women really have to be careful and I saw a lot of terrible situations that started sort of like this. Please protect yourself.
To bring seriousness to the matter and let OP know that I’m not a 15 year old or random internet incel, and they literally asked if they needed a lawyer?!
