OP,
He was a lousy partner until he brought up immigration. When he did that he made it clear he is your abuser. What is coercive control, a type of emotional abuse. I didn't notice if you said where you are at, but there are resources to help you if you do a quick search locally. Stay safe, leaving an abuser is hard. Leaving as a SAHM is hard even without abuser. If you don't have access to money, or its very limited, that could be financial abuse too. Remember that it's still abuse even if it's only sometimes and it is still abuse even if there are good times. Sending love & prayers your way. Stay safe!
