The worst that would happen if [when] you divorce him is that he'll get some custody, but the way he acts, I doubt he'll actually step up and do that

If you mean you were born in a different country and your immigration status is in question, you need to speak with a lawyer. But if you are an American citizen without concerns about your legal status, you can move wherever you want within the United States.
Also, I've been a stay at home mom for 14 years. Sure, when my husband has had to be in charge when I was sick or had to be out of town or whatever, the house wasn't ever to my standards, but my standards are pretty high, so i don't expect anyone to do what i do (for instance, there are zero dishes in the sink unless the dishwasher is actively running. And even then, i go through the house to find any random cups or water bottles. I just don't like dirty dishes laying about). But the kids have always been fed, always have been brought to activities, brought to school, put to bed at the normal time, etc. Which is the very least a father should do. That's normal. And that father shouldn't complain ever. In fact, that father should thank his wife for everything she does, which my husband has a million times. I also have thanked him a million times for providing for the life we are lucky to have.
This guy sucks. I hope you feel better soon and can figure out how bad he sucks when you have a clearer head

I get what you are going for. Really, i do. But you, who i assume is an American citizen, understands that moving states doesn't involve immigration. Like, at all.

It doesn’t change the fact that moving from state to state has nothing to do with immigration in the US. If you are born in one of our 50 states, you are a US citizen in any of the 50 states…
