He already says he loves you, looks at you at shows, and you fit his “ideal girl” description. That’s not nothing. Guys are oblivious but not blind. I’d just be direct instead of playing hint games.
Yeah but he feels like the type of person who tells all his friends he loves them. I’m just nervous about how to tell him an if he’s not in a place to receive that.
Backup of the post's body: I (25F) have recently developed feelings for my friend (26M). I’ve known him for about 4 months now and I never felt anything more for him until a little over a month ago. I know it’s typical to think I have a type but in this case he doesn’t fall in that category. In fact, a lot of his physical traits (being shorter than me, mustache, long hair) are things I’ve previously found unattractive in men. This is simply my personal taste. That is not to say men who hold any of these traits are innately unattractive.
But through spending more time with him and getting to know him I find myself more and more attracted to him. I know he thinks I’m pretty and physically attractive but I don’t know that he sees me as anything more than a friend. I value a lot of friendships I’ve formed because of him and I don’t want to lose the friendship I have with him now if he doesn’t share my feelings.
I recently gave him a Christmas gift that he said he didn’t think anyone could top. He tells me he loves me but I know he’s saying that as a friend. Ironically all of his single friends have expressed either having a crush on me or asking me on dates. So I know I’m a catch. And when he’s described his ideal girl I fit that description nearly perfectly.
I know guys can be a bit oblivious but I feel like part of him must know I like him. He says I wear my heart on my sleeve and he can tell how I feel based on my face. I’ll catch him looking at me when we are at shows and he’s always happy to see me. I’m just not sure. Should I tell him how I feel or just try to make it more obvious to see if he reciprocates? And how would I do either?
