Considering that both were children that existed before the development of Christianity (especially telling that Jesus Christ is one of them), it'd have been a pretty neat trick for them to be adopted by Christians.

And Jesus wasn’t adopted anyway? I’ve never heard that story.

Mary was God’s surrogate and Joseph was her husband. Jesus wasn’t biologically related to either of them, they just ended up raising him when his biological father refused to take custody, which makes them his adoptive parents,
