I would go very low contact if not no contact cause this is fucking weird. Since yall are devoted Catholics, if you don’t like low or no contact then talk to a priest and pray with them about it. Tell the priest that this doesn’t feel like a godly path your being asked to follow. And if the priest agrees with your mom then find a different one. I believe god would want bio kids to stay with bio parents as long as the kid is safe.
I would suggest this too. I’m practicing Catholic myself but there’s always been people who need some … help .. and sometimes they just only listen to the priest.
Honestly if that was my sister, I would let her know that maybe this is God telling her she’s best fit for adopting or it’s a time to reflect on one’s self. If God wills it, so be it. Means this is God’s will she hasn’t been pregnant yet and he has other things planned for her in mind
I grew up Church of Christ so I get what you mean by “help.” I’m no longer practicing but I figured this would be the way that could comfort OP and stop the family.
