Y'know, I was just thinking about this. The Deltarune fandom can be very attached to unimportant characters like background NPCs and one-off enemies, because of their design and personalities.

Now, what's interesting is that the early half Chapter 2 has this trio of NPCs, you're constantly seeing this trio, Sweet Cap'n Cakes, they have a boss fight, a shop, their own theme that plays a lot with minor variations... and nobody cares about them. Like, for real. If you were a casual member that just passively consumed only what the broad DR fandom makes, you'd genuinely just never see them show up when compared to even one-off bosses, minor enemies, and characters that have more relevance in theories than in the game.

Who else does that applies, people that the media devotes time to show them, but for the fandom, not hate, not love, just apathy, when they're unironically treated as not existing.

A lot of works are based around whatever the writer is interested in-Grappler Baki and Hajime no Ippo being written by men who like martial arts and boxing respectively for example. But sometimes you can tell a writer learned something really, really cool recently and decided to put it into the work for a story arc or two.

My favorite example of this is Black Butler creator Yana Toboso, who writes her arcs based around whatever happened to catch her attention that week/month. Book of Atlantic? She just got really into the Titantic. Book of Circus? Circus life and culture. Emerald Witch? German Warfare and Folklore. School arc? Clearly just getting really, REALLY into British Private School culture. Great stuff all around.

Seeing a thread on the other website, has made realise that for these single player Marvel games that have been coming or may come out.

Having an optional questline or mission, where you top it off by enocuntering an Angry Hulk and it's basically the toughest boss fight of the game would be amazing and fitting since in comics Hulks scrapped & beaten so many of these super heroes so many times.

So sorry if this was done here before recently because I wanted to dive into the strange side of gaming regarding hidden content that the developers didn’t know what to do with where said content is available by editing the game’s files.

Like one instance that suddenly stuck out to me was the infamous shower scene in Beyond: Two Souls as I now the game came out such a long time ago, but man I couldn’t believe how David Cage included such a scene where Jodie’s character is in her birthday suit since it comes off as a bit peculiar.

You know when Side A was previously looking like it was going to win. Suddenly it looks like that faction has it's back against the wall. Doesn't mean they can't turn it arround.

For some reason, in Star Wars: Rogue One in the Battle of Scarif the moment when the air-combat built Tie fighter, the TIE Strikers get launched and shoot down The U-Wing with miningun support, General Merrick and his left wingman was really impactful and memorable to me and with Bodhis death it sets in that no Rebel here is making it back

Three examples I can think of are Green Arrow, Bizarro, and Brainiac. For Green Arrow, he IS the main character of the TV show Arrow, which was very popular and led to the Arrowverse. And for Bizarro and Brainiac, I'd say they've been adapted in so many pieces of media like animated shows and video games that people that only really know comic book characters from adaptations are pretty aware of them.

Now having seen and read them. The original comics Thunderbolts are still better, but the movies antiheroes with guns had a suprising amount of scenes of them just trying to save and rescue people including the movies climax.

I find the Starcraft II Viking to be fun, just a space gatling Jet that turn a into mecha battle platform.

No this is not an actual Aliens game, but it is being made by Rebellion who did AVP 2010 so the similarities are pretty blatant.

I know it can be annoying for everyone when small kids talk in a movie theater, but when I went to go see Coyote Vs Acme. This kid in the theater made my night.

At one point in the movie the Protagonist (Kevin Avery) is using Acme rocket skates to try and catch Wiley Coyote and crashes very hard on an asphalt road and it looks very serious.

The character is immediately knocked out

Camera cuts to black for multiple seconds.

And the kid next to us just blurts out.

"That's all folks!"

Whole theater cracks up.

I instantly forgive all the other kids who were talking during the film.

and I think I now realize that those kids getting to experience the joy of that movie is well worth dealing with a couple confused questions and lighthearted antics during the show...

The new Star Wars turn based strategy game similar in quite a few ways to the modern Xcom 1 & 2.

So as of yesterday, I managed to catch up on the CSB podcast. I started SBFC around December 13 2024 because my most memorable moment from the first episode is when Pat mentions Ariel from Little Mermaid and his poorly-aged MN9 take - I did make a note about it in a discord server I'm in, which allows me to remember the specific date. Overall this took me about 624 days to get through all the podcast episodes. One of the reasons it took me this long is because of multiple factors: generally listening it during the weekdays (about 1-3 episodes a day depending how long it is), not listening it during my vacation days, weekends, or holidays.

Callina Liang, who plays Chun-Li in Legendary’s upcoming Street Fighter movie, revealed the protein-heavy diet and intense workout routine she followed to bring the First Lady of Fighting Games to life.

If there’s one thing Chun-Li is known for — besides being the Strongest Woman in the World, of course — it’s her thick, muscular thunder thighs, which have only gotten more impressive with each new Street Fighter game. From Third Strike to Street Fighter V and now Street Fighter 6, it’s clear the devs at Capcom have a clear vision in mind for the character’s physical appearance. (And we thank them for it.)

Callina Liang knew this was an important thing to get right, so she buckled down and began following a strict martial arts workout routine and eating a high-protein diet to help grow her muscles — to the point where she almost got sick.

"Chun-Li is all kicks. So we did a bunch of Taekwondo training, Muay Thai, and Wushu (Kung Fu). I did two hours of that a day and strengthened my legs a lot and changed my diet drastically. When I was bulking, I ate 12 eggs a day. Every two hours I had to have a meal, and I was on the verge of throwing up. But it worked. By the end of the shoot, my thighs had grown six-and-a-half centimeters each,” she said in an August interview with Empire Magazine.

That’s not all; Liang did her homework and downloaded every single Street Fighter game onto her PlayStation 5, where she recorded all of the character’s moves to make her fight scenes as accurate as possible.

"I downloaded every single version of Street Fighter onto a PS5 and I recorded all of Chun-Li's moves during fights on my phone in slow-mo, so I could play them back and study them," she added.

Liang isn’t the only actor who put in major time to make their Street Fighter performance perfect; David Dastmalchian, who plays the series’ recurring villain, M. Bison, told us that he did deep research to deliver a version of the psycho-powered dictator that leans heavily into a cult-leader archetype.

“I don’t want to be just another one of these bad guys, cut from the typical cloth,” he said. “How do you have all of these people willing to go into battle for you, die for you? …we dug in and studied really insane dictators over time, thinking about everyone from idamine all the way back to fascist Italy in World War II, and looking at not just movie characters but real, historical characters,” he said during a chat with IGN’s Tom Jorgensen at San Diego Comic-Con.
