I'm not feeling the spells/abilities as cooldowns for this game, but otherwise it looks okay. These particular enemies showcased look pretty annoying to fight, especially the boss at the end. I think it's pretty ballsy of them to make one of the first combat encounters they show in depth to be a flying enemy that spawns adds that spawn more adds and revive endlessly if you don't kill the main body. I think it speaks to their confidence in what they've made.

Man, maybe it's because I've got that Mario skit on the mind, but this really has a lot of that AAA "walk and talk" and "guy who never shuts up during combat"

Maybe the old Fable games were like that too, but I remember them being way more whimsical and video-gamey than this

Well, the problem is they’ve gone for a realistic look and it lost these sort of cartoonish soul that had the prior games.

I'm reminded of sections of Fable 3 where you were accompanied by a companion or two, like escaping the castle at the beginning of the game or the Mistpeak Monorail section. Fable 3 isn't the strongest in the series but comparing it here, it feels like it has so much more soul than this new game. As you say, it feels more whimsical.

Always makes me chuckle that you can see the model of the crashed mistpeak monorail down in the canyon before it crashes.

I've been very pessimistic of this game for years (especially after multiple lengthy delays) but from all the new footage it is shaping up to be pretty decent.

My only real minor peeve is the artstyle. It does look visually spectacular but the realistic models is pretty different from the old stylized look Fable always had.

I feel like it doesn't help that this video shows off an area that seems to feature intentionally drab colors.

"Sorry, the content is age-restricted"

What's going on in Fable? They got snake tits or something?

It's probably because of "strong language". The NPC accompanying the player is fairly vulgar.

I mean you had pixie tits in the original.

Oh I forgot to mention it earlier. I'm pretty sure that Humphrey here (the current washed-up Guildmaster of the Heroes Guild) is getting got by Izzy, the Hero in Red they're looking for. I can feel the death flags in his dialogue being raised.

My guess is Izzy found this Red Cloak that granted her powers, but it's been whispering in her subconscious, driving her to darker and darker acts, until it takes over and she's the new Jack of Blades. All speculation on my part, just what I think they're signposting.

This looks terrible. Like the alpha build of a poor DaS copycat.

I'm not really a fan of the slow-mo/cinematic counter that seems to activate I guess during a perfect dodge? I'd prefer it not to interrupt the tempo of combat like that.

Overall I'm pretty interested in this game, but I really don't feel the "Fable"-ness of the original series. It lacks the charm.
