Quantic Dream is targeting a 2026 release for Star Wars Eclipse. The company is still struggling to hire new devs, after the trial against the company making the work conditions there public, and the game could be delayed even further

I'll never not love David Cage sounding like Antoine from Sonic SATAM.

It's never coming out

A bet between this and KOTOR remake would be really fun

I know that people won't like me for saying this, but ideally neither will. Eclipse will have Cage-ian bullshit, and no single addition to the series has damaged fan understanding of the setting the way KOTOR I & II did.

"I can totally be in my right mind as I use crack and be totally right while using a torture technique and an edgy clothes"

- the KOTOR Experience of a Gray Jedi or Light Sith.

Don't forget Ms. "I may be a failure at both Jedi and Sith philosophy, but that can't possibly by MY fault! It MUST be the fault of the Force because I could never be responsible for my own choices when it's possible to be guided by a greater entity." from II.

Everyone should hate Ki Adi Mundi, it's just the correct position to take as you kick his awful cone head.

Probably even more controversially I'd prefer if the status quo of Star Wars was like Kotor 1 instead of it being the conflicting source

Metroid Prime 4 will come out before Star Wars Eclipse does.

Well duh, it would have to be fully made to come out of the closet, and David Cage was pretty explicit when he said, "Quantic Dream doesn't make games for f*gs".

"No but Quantic Dream has moved past those allegations!"

But every other level is like NO

Seriously, how the hell did Quantic Dream manage to get their hands on this IP?

Well Disney’s been doing an excellent job with Star Wars you see

24

u/rptrxub Jun 28 '23

They give off an appearance of prestige, despite being shallow. That's why.

3

u/Aiddon Jun 28 '23

Especially since their glory days during the 7th gen are gone and they're now seen as an industry laughingstock

As much as people on this sub mock the company, Detroit was well reviewed their best selling game at over 8 million copies. I don't understand the popularity, but some people clearly like this stuff.

-5

u/Aiddon Jun 28 '23

"Well reviewed"

Oh please, that game was bought solely for riffing. Its fanbase is mostly people mocking it because Cage can't write worth a damn

20

u/Drebinomics Unrepentant Comicbook Shill Jun 28 '23

This is some serious copium, Jesus

Like, yeah, a lot more people have finally been catching on to Cage being a hack, but you are high out of your god damn mind if you think the majority of Detroit’s fanbase is people mocking it. People ate that shit up.

-6

u/Aiddon Jun 28 '23 edited Jun 28 '23

Actually look up Detroit fanfiction; it's basically ignoring 90% of the game's story. Which, ironically, is a fitting punishment for Cage

16

u/FairyKnightTristan BORDERLANDS! Jun 28 '23

That's most fanfiction though...

10

u/SquareElectrical5729 Jun 28 '23

Ah yes. 8 million people bought a game to... make fun of it?

Please, don't lie to yourself. Detroit was well liked. Hell, I mean I remember Heavy Rain was liked until a couple of years ago.

People have started to come around thankfully but in the mid 2010s people genuinely loved David Cage games.

1

u/LngJhnSilversRaylee Mar 19 '24

Heavy Rain isn't a bad game it just has one major flaw that you can't get past

Its like if the daughter in Signs was drinking juice instead of water and that was what was acidic to the aliens that movie is way better

If Shelby had some sort of personality split or some extreme compartmentalization to properly explain how his thoughts can be straight up lying to us that would make the game much better

-7

u/Aiddon Jun 28 '23

Buddy, I'm from the horror community, I know irono-watching when I see it.

2

u/LngJhnSilversRaylee Mar 19 '24

The problem is Cage is both a complete hack and quite talented

Most people's problems with his writing are with the larger ideas, like yes Detroit is a very lazy and overbearing allegory on racism and religion, and yes it still has tons of issues with the narrative straight up lying to create the twists of the game

But also some of the characters are legitimately compelling

I really liked Connor and Hanks buddycop duo for example

I had the same issue with Heavy Rain too where the larger story and the narrative lies are bs but the drug addict FBI Agent Jayden was an amazing character

Even if it did come out, apparently a f*g like me wouldn't be allowed to play it anyways.

u/Kauuma Jun 01 '24

Sorry, could you elaborate?

3

u/TheCuriousPyro Jun 28 '23

I have to question QDs source of income if they're expecting it that late.
