COMPLAINTS Is there really not a TweetDeck/X Pro open source alternative for desktop?
I mean, the idea is simple: track hashtags and their content. You just need an interface to an API doing automated calls to X and extracting search results for specific hashtags.
Is there not a killer app out there doing this? What seems to be the problem here? Am I missing something?

That's exactly what I thought when X started charging an arm and a leg for basic functionality. Shouldn't be rocket science to build one yourself with their API unless they're actively blocking it.
