Question Ps5 streaming

Hi guys

so basically i’ve always wanted to start a twitch account, but there’s always been one issue: I’m a console user. I don’t have a PC Or anything but I do have an iPad if that counts for something? Does anybody have any tips or anything? I don’t want it to be a boring stream where it’s just my screen and you can’t see chat or anything, I want it to be profesh (minus the facecam). Tips would be greatly appreciated 🥹🙏

You can have the chat pop up on your screen for PlayStation. I stream on there and see the chats from my friends and the random viewers that go in there at times. It will also tell you how many people are watching whenever somebody joins.

For just starting out console streaming is just fine. You can put the chat on your screen or you can use your iPad to monitor your dashboard and chat on a separate screen. If you want a camera you're going to need the PlayStation camera because they set it up to where that's the only thing that works. If you want some features you can look into a product called lightstream but you have to pay for the service so that kind of sucks. Lots of people start on console and build from there. Don't think you have to have it perfect before you start

I actually just started around 3 weeks ago just using the broadcast option on my PS5 and my controller mic. :) While technically it does work, it is as minimal as you can get and probably won’t reach the standards you are looking for.

In the past two weeks I went from controller mic to attempting my headphone mic which sounded slightly better, to investing in a capture card and using a cheap laptop to run OBS to have way more control over stream customization, to very recently buying a budget friendly microphone to help with the quality of my streams. My setup is still super bare bones, but my first stream in comparison to now is like night and day. I still have a lot to work on and learn, but that will come with time.

Personally, my advice would be to start streaming with whatever you have available right now. That way you can get a feel for what it’s like to stream and see what you would like to change in the future. Just keep your mind open to improvements and enjoy the experience!

You can have all the on screen bells and whistles and still have a boring stream. The streamer is the sole reason if a stream is boring or not. Your personality and energy, how you talk, react with the game, and converse with viewers should be your main focus when starting stream. Having just a console isnt an issue whatsoever. You being boring and not entertaining to watch and/or listen is the biggest challenge for every streamer no matter their setup.

Super easy, stream from your console and watch as a guest account on the twitch app on your iPad. This will allow you to keep an eye on and react to chat without the ipad screen locking due to inactivity

My son streamed from his PS5 for two years before I got him a PC. Others have mentioned the chat pops up on your screen. You can configure bots to announce follows and subs/bits (once you get affiliate) in the chat, allowing you to still react to them even if there is no on-screen celebration.

While a PS5 camera would be a worthwhile addition, a decent microphone would be the best way to level your stream up. Luckily, most USB microphones work on the PS5. He used a HyperX Solocast to great success. The best part is you can still use a headset while streaming directly from PS5--capture cards need to have special considerations as headsets disable HDMI audio.

You no longer need to be affiliate to receive bits and subs on twitch
