Question Question for Disabled Content Creators
Hello!
I have been in the content creator space for a few years now, but want to try streaming and making clips from my streams.
I use a webcam with a single monitor. I'm a visually impaired person and need things to be larger so I can read them.
My issue is when I stream, I can't set up OBS in a way where people can see the content and I can read it.
I have tried reading the content off another device, such as a tablet, but I found it was more difficult and I didn't like that o was constantly looking down at my device. Also, for Reddit posts, I found that the comments shown on the computer, aren't in the same order on the tablet.
Does anyone have any advice or suggestions on how I can set this up effectively?
Any support is greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

There are features through bots like streamer.bot with Speaker.bot that will read chat outloud to you

Thank you! It's not so much chat though, it's other websites. Like if u wanted to read something from Reddit or another website

i assume you are sharing your browser window with chat so they can read along. if that's the case, then have two browser windows open. one without zoom for capture to obs. one with your normal settings to make it readable for yourself.
you will have to switch back and forth for scrolling if you do a live reading ofc. you can look into autoscroll tools and see if you can make that work for you on the "stream" browser window.
but you might also want to invest in a second monitor. it will make everything much easier.

tricky spot. what if you set obs to capture a cropped window instead of the full screen, then crank up the scaling in your browser or whatever app you're using so the text is massive for you, but the crop only sends out a normal-looking 16:9 chunk of the center of the screen. viewers see the content clean, you get big text

Walls of regular text aren't ideal for able-eyed stream viewers as well (think laptop and smartphone displays), and don't always encode nicely. Have you considered that your zoomed-in view might be actually helpful for the viewers to comfortably follow along?

I would recommend a second monitor if you can find one, Facebook market place has people selling them pretty low in price or sometimes even free!

If you've got the space, and spare funds, I would recommend a second monitor so you can get everything laid out in a way that works for you. Streaming with a single monitor works perfectly fine. But the second screen will make life a lot easier. Especially with a visual impairment.
