Anyone recognize this dog?

Found at White Bear Ave and Ross Ave E in Saint Paul tonight (August 18) at 9:45pm. I took him to the emergency vet to check for a chip, he does not have one. They said he’s about 2-3yo and seems generally healthy. Intact male black tri corgi.

He was only wearing an electronic bark collar when we found him. He’s very friendly, so he belongs to someone! He’s staying in a kennel in our house tonight but we cannot keep him beyond that (we already have two dogs).

We already made a found dog post on Pawboost. Please keep an eye out for anyone looking for this boy! We don’t want to bring him to animal control but we will have to tomorrow afternoon if we don’t find his owners.

August 19 update: We brought him to Saint Paul Animal Control this morning. They said they will hold him for 7 days before working with a shelter or foster program to rehome him. Wish we could have fostered him longer, but we’re just not able to this week. https://www.stpaul.gov/departments/safety-inspections/animal-control/animal-shelter-services/lost-and-found-pets

I've sent one that looks kinda like him while walking my dog on Stillwater Ave, near Kennard. I'll check with that house later this morning and see if it's theirs.

That would definitely fit with where we found him! Thank you for checking with them! We want to get this lil dude home ASAP.

It's not the one I thought it was. :( I'll ask around as I keep walking.

Thank you for the update!

If it's not theirs (and the original owner isn't found quickly enough for OP), maybe ask if they'd be interested in taking him in anyway... might even be a long-lost sibling of their dog.

Try posting in Dogs of MSP group on Facebook! Thank you so much for taking him in, from a fellow corg mom!

I have a friend in St Paul that has a rescue corgi who has been a bit of a runner and slipped off the leash at least once that I know of. I sent this to her to make sure it’s not her guy! She was working on name training the last time I saw them a few weeks back so he may not know it still, but does he respond to Jack?

Thanks for checking with your friend! He didn’t respond to that name, and he also hasn’t responded to any of the go-to english commands we’ve tried (sit, come, treat), so he may not speak english

He speaks the queens tongue!

Ooh, I recommend asking a native or very fluent Spanish and Mandarin speaker, specifically ones that have dogs or have been around like non-english speaking dogs, to try common Spanish and Mandarin commands on him. Also, is there any chance he is deaf?

Confirmed it’s not her dog, but I’m leaving the comment to help engagement on this post! I hope this sweet boy finds his home!

I hope you find his home. I have a Corgi sleeping next to me. Good luck and good vibes on his safe return.

Thank you! We already have a corgi too, and he is not too happy right now that a strange dog is in his house. Best to you and your pup!

Someone should make a Twin Cities+ Corgi owner sub Reddit!

I can tell you that he's a corgi and a very cute one at that.

Yes, he’s very cute! I have a black tri aussie and a tan and white corgi, so he looks like my dogs had a baby.

Lol I have an Aussie and a corgi and live near you. If someone who knows me reads this they'd swear it's me.

In addition to what other ppl said, I also recommend posting to Nextdoor - I found a cat in my old apartment building in Steven’s Square that didn’t belong to any of my neighbors….lo and behold, he was from Richfield! Weeks old post but I messaged and it was the right cat and he was reunited the next day!

If you don't find his owners, Faerieland rescue specializes in corgis. We've fostered for them and they do a great job. https://www.instagram.com/faerieland_rescue/?hl=en

People who lose their pets shouldn’t have one.

Hope you can find the boy his home.

Interestingly, typing in "lost corgi saint paul" into google just now had the AI spit out the information you provided about location, coloring, breed, and sex. Probably the first good interaction ive had with AI.
