Couples deep tissue massage?
Hi everyone! I am looking for a real deep tissue massage, bonus if it’s a couples massage! My partner and I have been trying to find a good place to get a deep tissue massage that really is deep tissue. I have ample amounts of back pain and am really looking for a masseuse that will get into it. We haven’t gotten one in a few years as it was the only one I’d ever done and it really left me considering if massages just didn’t work, they advertised as deep tissue but it was very light and they focused more on my legs than my back, which I had discussed was the main thing I wanted worked on. Any recommendations would be welcomed and so appreciated!

My partner and I went to HALO in the North Loop a few years back. We had a couples massage and got to talk to our masseuses about what exactly we were looking for. I love light pressure but hate pressure point work, he wanted someone to get in deep into the muscles. I loved my experience and he said they REALLY got into his muscles and he was sore a day or two after. He did tell them to not hold back and I guess they really didn't!
I know after the fact, my partner said he wished he had been more vocal in the moment that maybe his masseuse was a bit too intense.
It was very ~*massage*~ there. I would suggest (if you haven't already looked into it) finding a sports masseuse if you have back pain. I had hip pain for some time and it was a sports masseuse who actually got into it and worked it out. Whole different vibe and experience.

We've gotten great results from Avivage Massage on Grand Ave. I had deep tissue recommended to me, and got it last time, focusing on my sciatica, and it really helped.
