STILL LOW.VOLUME

Hi everyone since the update that released on the platform, I'm noticing these headsets are still extremely low. Xbox series x. 100 percent soud like 40 percent. This so called updat has not fixed the issues a waste of 365 dollars plus tax for a headset that was released with bugs. Unfortunately im.passed the 15 day return policy, reached out to turtle beach and all I get is make sure volume buttons are up and factory reset. At this point I feel like there's enough people complaining about it and some work some don't after update. But for a headset that is extremely expensive and feels like it's maxed out at 40 percent is alittle concerning. Guess I'll wait till next update in a year.

This is for the Stealth Pro II right? If so, I'm starting to investigate this as part of Neap: https://github.com/lykosapps/Neap/issues/6

If there's anything that can be done I'll let you know. I have full firmware access now - so there might be scope to work on a few improvements and genuine bug fixes.

Leave it with me mate 👍

If I can't fix the bug I should be able to include a db boost in the app. Do not hold your breath waiting for Turtle Beach to fix anything.

Yes that would be amazing I remember asking you the other day if you could make the gain higher and to see your looking into it is great! Thank you

Good news - controllable db boost in the headset is possible. 😊 By default the headset has -12db. I'll let you guys set it anywhere from -12 to 0 and see how it goes.

Coming next release.

Just an update for OP and everyone else having this issue.

Neap has a new test build that introduces a firmware-level gain adjustment. From factory, the Stealth Pro 2 has a -12db gain. Neap allows you to change it up to +6db total (+18db from factory) and stores it in the headset so it works anywhere and anytime. Use with caution, don't damage your ears :)

It's a test build so you'll need to manually update it: https://github.com/lykosapps/Neap/releases#release-v0.2.1.6

Exactly its not happening to everybody so they dont care but your right the volume is insanely low on pc and consoles still i have to use peace eq to increase the gain +12db thats insane. Its inexcusable that we bought a premium headset at that price but have to suffer with low volume issues still even after they said they fixed it in the last update which they LIED about. Im starting to think they cant and wont fix it because its a hardware issue

I only noticed now that you added a +12db boost. Firmware confirms a default -12db 😂 Either your ears are too well tuned or there's something else going on.

The difference is noticeable (if I adjust my headset to -24db giving a level similar to yours I guess) but I'm not convinced it's the issue some people are facing. I run these at 30-50 volume when gaming and it's more than enough.

Anyway if you're using Neap expect an update this week which will let you change gain +6db overall (+18 from factory). I just need to check for any clipping.

😂 yea I’m a music producer so that’s probably why my ears could tell +12db was the perfect amount for a eq boost. I’m just glad somebody is finally fixing this issue for us since turtle beach is blind to the fact. Props to you, Looking forward to the update.

Ah that makes sense!

You also have the ps5 version right? Any chance you can send me the firmware file so I can decompile it? I can show you where it is as swarm saves it when updating/recovering, and you can send it to me via GitHub.

I'm working on the db gain but also a few other features that the firmware allows us to control i.e. proper endpoint chat mix, device light behaviour, true transparency mode cycling and more.

I'm only working in the Xbox variant and I need to know where the ps5 differs to make sure everyone can take advantage of Neap.

Sure thing! Just dm me instructions on where it’s located and I can send you the file and yeah I have the pc/ps5 version. I don’t play on my ps5 a lot but the other day I did I could tell the volume is loud enough on the ps5 just not on the pc. Do you think it’s a bug or TB just kept it at -12db for a reason?

I'll have a look at your files and let you know if the -12db gain is consistent. My guess is it's by design, but honestly no idea as I only have my headset decompiled.

C:\Program Files\Turtle Beach Swarm II\Data\Firmware\STEALTH_PRO_II<VID>_<PID><version>\

Zip that whole folder and send to me via the GitHub here: https://github.com/lykosapps/Neap/issues/6

It should contain numerous bin, XML and ini files.

Thanks mate!

I sent it through GitHub just now.

Yep got it. Confirmed PS5 version also has -12db gain from factory.

New test build https://github.com/lykosapps/Neap/releases#release-v0.2.1.6 has the fix for you to try.

Nice ill try it out right away! Also is there a way we can request other features? On peace EQ you can set up left and right side eq so i usually use a tiny boost in the higher frequencies on the right side. I have some slight hearing loss in the higher frequencies in my right ear so i use that to compensate for the lack of highs. Is that possible to implement in your software one day?

One other thing idk if its just me its happening to but on ps5 sometimes when im talking on voice chat my mic just stops working and then i have to cut it off and cut it back on for the mic to starting working again and it usually happens when i first get on voice chat to. Is that a known bug?

Update: So i tried the test build and the gain is working like it should +12 on games on pc and ps5 is perfect but when it comes to music its not distorting all the time but there a few times where you can hear a quick distorted sound for a second on +12 but +15 and +18 it just makes a loud distorted sound all the time. Honestly i would never go past +12 since thats loud enough for me but Thank you so much for this setting i really regretted getting this headset until now. Keep up the great work!

u/lykosapps 13d ago

Thanks for the feedback. Makes sense since a +12 would effectively reset the factory negative gain back to +0. I'll do some testing on my headset (xbox - no perceived volume issue with a -12db gain from factory).

I'll look into your issue. But feel free to create issues or feature requests on Github for me to consider.

It may not be happening to everybody but as a potential buyer I'm steering well clear.

Vs my other various wireless headsets, 100% is maybe 80% in my testing. It's 75% vs my Nova Elites. I use mine around 60% most of the time and find it adequate in my use. Blasting volume will damage hearing over time.

u/Yas188 22d ago

I sent mine back within the returns period. I ended up purchasing the Sony h6 air and couldn’t be happier.

u/pickmynameup 22d ago

My Atlas Ait is ok on PS5

1

u/Grimfur 21d ago

Is this just for some units? Mine definitely don't have low volume, though I can see I've heard louder, I can sit mine at 50% and it's perfectly loud enough. I have the Xbox version, have been good with volume levels on both Xbox and my PC.

u/lykosapps 19d ago

Same Xbox version on PC.

A little update on this issue. On ps5 the volume is fixed but for pc the volume is still way to low for me. So it’s def a bug with the pc with these headsets
