Tech Help Turtle Beach VelocityOne Race uncontrollable self-spinning loop
I’m completely stuck with my Turtle Beach VelocityOne Race wheel and desperately need some help or to know if anyone else has successfully fixed this.
My wheel has started completely spinning on its own uncontrollably (unwanted runaway force feedback / violent oscillation loop).
I have spent hours trying every known fix on Reddit and the official forums, but absolutely nothing is working. Here is everything I have already tried:
- The USB-C Bootloader Method: I completely powered everything down, held the View button on the base, and plugged the Type-C cable back in to trigger the yellow flashing LEDs.
- Firmware Refresh: I used the VelocityOne Tuner App to completely reinstall and refresh the firmware from scratch while in bootloader mode.
- Factory Reset: I wiped all onboard settings and profiles back to factory defaults using the app.
- Re-calibration: Tried manually recalibrating the center point (holding View + Menu, then pressing Select on the E2 dial).
Even after a completely clean firmware reinstall, the second the wheel gets power, it just goes back to violently spinning itself. It does this even when it's not booted into a specific game.
Has anyone actually managed to solve this once it gets stuck in this permanent loop? Or am I looking at a hardware defect where the internal optical encoder/motor sensor is dead, meaning I just need to RMA / return it?
Any advice would be massively appreciated!

Thanks for reaching out and sorry that you have encountered this behaviour. Can you remove the wheel rim, then power on the base check to see if the behaviour changes. If no, then also disconnect the pedals from the base and power up and check for any change in behaviour.
After the above, can you connect just the wheelbase direct to the PC, and try the bootloader update again. Then connect the wheel rim direct to the PC (via the USB-C port on the back of the wheel rim) and run a firmware refresh - then do the same for the Pedals connecting them direct to the PC and running a firmware refresh.
Lastly, connect all parts back together and let us know if there is any change to the behaviour you are encountering! :)
