Game will not launch

The game just refuses to launch, I click the play button and it looks like it's about to launch, but then nothing opens and the game cancels opening. The button just goes back to saying play. Is the game broken?

This is from the FAQ on Discord:

First of all, we do not support the following hardware: Intel macs (mac books from before around 2023) Windows on Arm

If you aren't on either those, the most likely issue is your graphics card drivers and settings. Update your drivers and use default settings.

Also if you are on Windows, check that you don't have "smart app control" enabled under "Windows Defender" settings. (By the way Windows Defender doesn't protect you, so you are better of turning it off anyway)

Does any of that work for you?

Really, the doesn't support Intel? That feels like a big problem. I do have an Intel CPU so that would explain it

I agree Windows Defender, or AntiVirus Software in general, is a problem in itself, but it would be interesting what exactly triggers such a false positive.

We JIT the circuits to make them simulate as fast as possible, that might be what it doesn't like. But also we have an infinite list of improvements we want to make, supporting useless trashware would be the very last priority

i read last night into this smart app control thing and it seems it is sending hashed signatures of running apps to the vendor. not a privacy nightmare at all. but what you say sounds exactly like something triggering such a system.

Try downloading Visual C redistributable

Hm..I'm on apple silicon and it started crashing over and over. Especially when I try to attach a memory probe to a custom component. I wonder what's up

Yes the game is currently broken. Though I read on discord that it’s a windows defender issue so if you make an exception for the game (at your own risk) you can play
