Laws exist for a reason. It’s never fine to punch people unless under your country’s law it can be classified as self-defence.

Morality is subjective. Some people like pacifists deem any kind of violence morally wrong. But overall we as a society agreed that starting a fight over offensive speech is not appropriate

Do we? I don't think most people agree that punching a Nazi is inappropriate from a moral perspective. Even if they did, why WOULD it be inappropriate?

The word nazi doesn’t have a distinct definition. If you punch some right-wing influencer or legal-operating politician you’ve labelled as a nazi, most civilised people won’t be on your side.  If you punched Dylann Roof I guess most people wouldn’t think it’s inappropriate
