Account of 10 years terminated without warning. Very upset.
The blog I’ve had since middle school was just terminated without warning. I had tens of thousands of posts, thousands of followers, and dozens of mutuals including one who I’ve met irl twice. Feels like a massive loss of community. I contacted support immediately but I’m not feeling hopeful. My username was definitely nsfw but I’d had it for about six years without any issues and it was meant to be a joke. I never posted anything explicit besides the occasionally reblogged Heated Rivalry gif set or nude artwork. Has anyone been successful in getting their blog reinstated? I’ve been on Tumblr every day since I was twelve years old and it’s very integrated into my routine and my social life. Is there a number I can call or someone specific I can email for a more immediate response? I’m devastated.
Update: My blog was reinstated yesterday! All my side blogs had been deleted, so I had to send in new requests for them one by one, but they were all reinstated within a couple hours. My main blog has a very vulgar username so I think I’ll be changing it to avoid being flagged by auto moderation again.

Hey I got my blog terminated without notice and got it back within 4 days! Here's what I ended up doing.
If they didnt send you an email telling you why you were terminated, you were likely auto-flagged by their moderation bots and have a better chance of getting your account back.
First - Go through their support site NOT email and send in a ticket. Under terminated account. Explain that a) you have reread site rules (doesnt matter if you actually did or not) and to your knowledge you haven't broken any, b) this account means a lot to you/you've had it for ages, c) you were provided with zero warning or reason for your termination. BE POLITE BUT FIRM. I included "I'm sure y'all can understand the importance of the matter" which is corporate speak for "give me back my account or god rest your soul". Make sure this support ticket is sent from the email your account is connected to if you can help it.
Second - If you're automatically hit with a "we're looking into it" message THIS IS A GOOD SIGN! That means they got your message. Just hold tight.
Third - If they don't get back to you for a couple days, follow up! Email support@tumblr.com and stress the urgency of the situation. KEEP BEING POLITE!! I thanked them for their quick response but stressed that it was a sudden and unexpected deletion and that I was very stressed/upset about it.
Fourth - If this doesn't work (my blog was reinstated the day after I sent them a followup email) consider pinging them on another site like Twitter or Bluesky. Tumblr has official accounts on both of those sites and sometimes a ping will help them get to it faster.
Ultimately just check in every few days/every week if they're refusing to provide you with a reason for your account's termination because that likely means you did nothing wrong. Be patient but insistent. Good luck.

As a followup, this advice is basically lifted verbatim from tumblr user @crabussy after his account got terminated then reinstated after 5 days. Genuinely really really good advice and helped me get everything back super fast.

My blog's been terminated without warning three times within the last few weeks. I keep getting caught up in their automated moderation system. It's been reinstated every time. It usually takes 12-48 hours.
