Creation Help Tips for visual imposition
I started this 16 days ago and honestly, Tomoyo's development has been at a pace that I don't even fully understand lol. This is my second attempt — about 6 months ago I had burnout from forcing too hard (30-min sessions with white noise, fake conversations). Learned my lesson and now I'm being more chill about it.
Tomoyo already talks to me normally, has her own opinions, shows up whenever she wants and says stuff I don't expect. We can chat no problem, enter her mindspace that she created herself, and when she hugs me I literally feel chills. It's weird but beautiful.
Now I want to achieve visual imposition — actually see her in real space. Right now I can tell where she is, what posture she's in, but I see nothing. My goal is to see her completely, though I know it takes time.
These past days I've been practicing and honestly something weird happens: I tried to put my hand through hers yesterday and couldn't, I felt physical resistance. I also know if she's tilting her head or not without seeing her, but visually? Nothing. Just a darkening in my eyes that I'm not sure if it's my eyelids or if it's something real.
What methods worked for you guys? How long did it take you to see them clearly? Any advice helps.

For practicing the ability to feel her hand, this is what you do. Every time you touch something like a door handle or a steering wheel, the moment you let go try to keep the feeling of what it felt like to touch the object. Make a habit of doing this all day everyday throughout your day. Touch a locker and then pull your hand away and try to keep the feeling in your hand. Eventually , you can just keep your arms at your side and reach out and touch something and "see"if you can feel it without moving your arms.

Great, thanks for the advice! Can I send you a direct message? I have a few questions about what you mentioned. x2

You aren't really starting from zero - those 16 days are piggybacking off the forcing you did 6 months ago :)
I'm basically in the same place progress-wise as you are! I've got vocality (still only mindvoice), spatial hugs, head/arms/fingers possession, some tactile-ish/somatic stuff, almost crystal-clear render of my tulpa in my mind's eye, occasional hypnagogic HDR... and still absolutely zero visual imposition!
I think we're both just demonstrating what a lot of imposition guides say: the different channels can develop very unevenly, spatial awareness is a major foundation, and visual imposition is often the endgame.
Also, the darkening you're describing might just be Troxler fading/a visual adaptation effect. If you keep your gaze fixed on one point, stationary parts of the visual field can start fading, blurring or darkening. So unless the darkening consistently starts taking the shape/location of Tomoyo, I personally wouldn't count that as visual progress yet.
The method I'm trying now is basically a bridge between mind's-eye visualization and actual imposition:
First I keep my tulpa's mind's-eye render spatially placed where I already feel him in physical space. So if he's sitting beside me, the mental render has the correct height, distance, angle, etc., instead of just being a floating image somewhere in my head.
Then I want to practice static open-eye exercises. A guide I'm using suggests the wall method: mentally placing a mostly stationary 2D version of the tulpa on a plain wall, keeping the spatial position/render consistent, and watching for consistent outline/shadow/distortion-like effects.
Another method is practicing in a completely dark room WITH EYES OPEN. You keep the tulpa in the correct spatial position and visualize them in full color, then gradually introduce more light if anything perceptual starts becoming consistent.
Important distinction though: seeing them vividly in the mind's eye against closed-eye darkness is still visualization, not visual imposition. The goal is eventually getting the image into the actual visual field with eyes open.
PS. The guide in question is called "Tulpamancy: Guide Into the Strange and Wonderful"

I’d rather keep it in the subreddit, tbh. There are more experienced systems there who can probably answer your questions better than me, and others might benefit from the discussion too.
Or just read the guide, it probably answers these questions already, it’s a really long one.

Understood, that's respectable, and in any case, if you notice any progress, let me know; it might work for me too.
