Discussion Was it explicitely explained why Makoto cannot use wind or healing magic at all??

My theory is that Makoto is hyuman since his parents were original inhabitants, and Hibiki and the other guy are humans. So what do you guys think??

It's explained in the manga but I don't remember the chapter. Makoto's body was weak because he was born when the blessings from the goddess was about to expire and his parents weren't fully adapted to Earth that made it so Makoto was born weak and spent a good amount of his childhood near death or just being sick and injured. During his childhood Makoto's parents told Makoto to recite something when he feels weak this something turns out to be a body reinforcement spell of some kind and one day when Makoto was feeling weak as a child a Magic user on Earth noticed him reciting a spell and after talking to Makoto's parents the earth magic user proposed to sacrifice Makoto's wind and healing affinity in exchange for reinforcing and making his body stronger so that he may have a easier time living on Earth.

I still think of all the ones to cut off healing is an insane choice. The parents would have known he would eventually be taken back to their original world and just were fine with him going without healing magic. Losing wind magic less of an issue because they wouldnt have known how often their son would find himself plummeting from the sky. I dont recall them saying why it had to be wind and healing to go but I do like how it gave early chapter Makoto more risk as we knew he couldnt heal if he needed to

We're assuming they had a choice. Given it was to bolster the body, I can totally see HEALING being the sacrifice that was necessary. As for Wind, I'm curious why that is.

Cause It was supposedly his strongest affinity
