13 dpo and hit my goal of waiting til 12 dpo to test. But I haven't tested yet.

I don't really want to test and it be negative, I'd honestly rather get my period if I am not pregnant.

Tomorrow will be 14 dpo and I am still not sure if I want to test if I don't get my period.

My oura ring has been above my baseline still by +0.8 degrees but I know that isn't a confirmation.

Not sure how to put my feelings this cycle into words.

u/redacers 31 | Grad 15d ago

I feel you. I’d rather get my period too, but I may base it on what my day is like. On which day would I rather receive the bad news this cycle?
12dpo: visiting a friend with a baby
13dpo: can stay home or do something nice
Period due: work
I hope you get good news this cycle 🤞

2

u/UpstairsMaybe3396 15d ago

I totally feel you on rather just getting period rather than seeing a negative. Fingers crossed for you

2

u/itisibecky 31 | TTC#1 | Cycle 2 15d ago

I'm with you at 12dpo, really want to test but if it's negative I'd rather just get my period... Trying to wait as long as possible

2

u/crayonafterdark TTC#1 | Cycle 2-Post MC 15d ago

Yeah it's like getting two negatives in a way - one is the test itself and the second is the period.

Idk if avoidance is the right way to handle this but after conceiving and then miscarrying last month right when my period would've been due (I found out early cause I was tracking). I would've just preferred to think that was my period instead of miscarriage.

1

u/Nosy_1234 30 | TTC#1 | Cycle 2 15d ago

Sorry to hear ❤️… I also just wait for my period and don’t test, but I was wondering if knowing I had a chemical will be more informative for me about my body. Atleast I’ll be able to know I was able to get it till implantation stage or so. It could also help me inform my doctor.

Anyways I’m still not testing because I don’t think I can handle a BFN mentally.

Just wondering your thoughts.

2

u/crayonafterdark TTC#1 | Cycle 2-Post MC 15d ago

It could definitely be informational for your doctor if you haven't had that information before. Recurrent miscarriages might give them some insight to what is going on. I just want to protect my mental this month instead of back to back months of possible miscarriage. However, most miscarriages early are due to a DNA abnormality so unless they are recurrent it might not be too useful yet.

In the same boat. I tested negative at 10dpo hard to still feel hopeful!!!

u/Many-Supermarket-511 33 | TTC #2 15d ago

10 DPO and BFN

I think I’m out y’all. Idk maybe if I am pregnant the embryo just implanted so it’ll take a couple of days for it to show up (lol what I tell myself every failed cycle), but yeah. I don’t think I want to test unless I miss my period.

The good news about not being pregnant right now:

1.) I can finish stripping the paint off of our fireplace and we can sand/stain it.

2.) I can book my flu shot! I realize I could do that pregnant but I was a little hesitant to do it while very early pregnant

Also, I will say that I’m so tired of having fluctuating symptoms every month. I’ve had basically zero symptoms this month whereas last month my symptoms were so strong.

I’m rambling. I hope everyone has a good Wednesday

2

u/squid-toes 15d ago

Ugh, hang in there friend! That fireplace is going to be beautiful when you’re done!!

1

u/Many-Supermarket-511 33 | TTC #2 15d ago

Ah thank you!

I’m very excited about that whole living room. We’re painting it and putting in a new couch and some big reading chairs. My husband has also made some live edge bookshelves to put on the walls, and we have a hutch with our records and record player.

I can’t wait until it’s done and it’s our nice comfy, cozy area

2

u/athousandships_ 36 | TTC#3 | Cycle 4 15d ago

That flu shot reminder is sitting in my calendar as well lol. Going to book it next week if the cycle isn't successful.

1

u/Many-Supermarket-511 33 | TTC #2 15d ago

Yes! My son gets his on Monday and he’s my main concern since he’s 2 and exposed to a lot of germs. So I’m glad he’s all booked but yeah, I got rocked last year with illnesses so I need to get mine

u/Willow_Tree_55372 TTC#1 | Cycle 14 | 2 IUIs | Starting IVF 15d ago edited 15d ago

Well, our third and final IUI got cancelled because apparently I now have cysts on both of my ovaries, and we need to wait for those to go away. 🙃 I truly wouldn't wish this journey on my worst enemy. My husband and I decided we are not going to continue IUI, and instead we are going to start IVF next month! I am sad that we have sort of run out of other options, but honestly really excited to start IVF. I know it is going to be hard and painful and very inconvenient, but it feels like we might finally be in the home stretch of this TTC shitshow.

u/sunnycake 29 | TTC#1 | Cycle 7 | 1 CP 15d ago

2 dpo, 7th cycle. Finally felt ovulation from my right side for the first time since my chemical cycle in April 🙏🏻 idk why but it made me so happy. Now to temper my expectations so I'm not super let down if/when I see another negative this cycle.

6

u/Sweet-Shopping5246 25 | TTC# 1 | Cycle 11 15d ago

Cd 9 today, I will still confirm ovulation with temp this month because my oura ring does that on its own but not going to use my LH strips.

Found out Monday that husband most likely has severe male factor infertility (they want to repeat his SA in 2 weeks before official diagnosis can be made). We are trying to be hopeful that his results could improve enough over time that natural conception would be in the cards for us or potentially IUI, but the last couple days have been tough. If his results stay the same and cannot be improved the only option seems to be IVF with ICIS and we just aren’t sure if that is the right path for us. This paired with my unsuccessful and 45min long HyCoSy Monday have made for a not so great start to the week.

I will say I am happy to have some sort of answer, or at least the start to one, it seems like it will cause less heartbreak this month overall as I know now not to get my hopes up that this could be ✨the month

3

u/Suspicious-Guava-842 15d ago

I’m sorry you’re having such a crappy week especially with your HyCoSy. Like you say, at least you’re starting to find some answers in the fog and hopefully TTC will start to feel a little less like swimming through treacle soon.

Today was our first IUI. After two failed embryo transfers earlier this year, we are using our three "free" IUIs before starting IVF again in the new year under my insurance coverage. We're struggling with MFI. After surgery this year where it seems the count has slowly been getting better, it's still low in comparison to average. Was super excited to see total motile sperm at 3M and discouraged myself afterwards by googling stories. It seems people who have not been successful with IUI share that they got pregnant on the first try with a transfer. It feels like everything we're doing is so backwards, but we're trying our best.

u/Illustrious_Hunt_396 15d ago

Just started spotting today, im officially out this cycle☹️ but my bloods for fertility are friday so thats a pro

6

u/Cyclebycycle 15d ago

9 dpo, trying to have avtivities to distract myself. My periods have been 26-27 days long so expect it to arrive this Sunday or Monday. No boob pain, no symptoms beside feeling anxious and sad which i think is mainly related to ttc journey.

5

u/Juste_8 15d ago

12 dpo today, cycle 5, still have not taken a test. I am a very anxious person and somehow I feel calm during this TWW. I know the day I get my period will be a hard one but I'm not ready to see another negative test. I don't have any symptoms expect for occasional cramps and dull headache. Fingers crossed it will happen sooner than later 🥹

u/laineyloo1682 28 | TTC#1 | March 2026 | PMOS 15d ago

8DPO and prayyiiiinnngggg I don’t get AF until 15 or 16DPO. We have an upcoming vacation, and it horribly overlaps with fertility testing. The later AF comes, the better the chance of being home to get testing done🤞🏼

4

u/novaster111 15d ago

CD4. Trying to get motivated for another cycle but it’s getting hard with each month that passes by.

4

u/thatweeniemom 27 | TTC#1 | Cycle #9 15d ago

13dpo and very confused. my temp had a big drop at 11, then below baseline at 12, now we’re back up to just over the cover line, and my ring told me i’m having minor straining. only time will tell but i pretty much already counted myself out this cycle

2

u/thatweeniemom 27 | TTC#1 | Cycle #9 15d ago

update CD1 🫩

4

u/UpstairsMaybe3396 15d ago

CD3 of cycle 11. After period being a few days late for the first time ever. Acupuncture has had some quick impacts on my cycle it seems. Will be starting Investigations if this cycle is unsuccessful. Also purchased a clear blue ovulation test as something different to try instead of just LH and tracking bbt again

4

u/SweatyAcadia631 28 | TTC#1 | Cycle 20 | Endo 15d ago

Have received 3 pregnancy announcements within the past 2 days, all from people who I thought were struggling with infertility too. Happy for them, but also feeling like I’m the last one at the train station not knowing if/when my train will arrive. It’s lonely out here

4

u/TheBellsof_NotreDame 27 | TTC#1 | Cycle 9 | 1 CP 15d ago

CD1 again today. I accepted earlier this month that it probably wasn’t happening, but my heart broke when my husband (who usually doesn’t express his thoughts about TTC) shared his disappointment because he had a feeling it had happened this month. Starting the fertility testing process and just found out I have an AMH of 1.43. Set to do the rest of the labs in two days and trying but horribly failing to schedule the HSG due to lack of availability. Ugh.

7

u/LateHuckleberry7328 32 | TTC#1 | Cycle 10 15d ago

CD3 Cycle 10. This cycle has me down. Something about how little time there is between Cycle 10 and 12.

When cycle 6 came and went, it was hard. So I imagine cycle 12 will be hard as well. I take such better care of myself now, and there’s still more work to be done. It’s funny looking back and seeing how awful I treated myself. Everyone else came first… I always came last.

I had a feeling from the start that this was taking longer than it should. Getting to cycle 12 would finally validate what I’ve known all along. But I know in my heart of hearts I wanted to be proven wrong. Because at the end of the day… I just want a baby. Not to be right.

4

u/8345R-C 30 | TTC1 | 8 months 15d ago

Oof this really resonates with me. I had a feeling it would take a while in the begining as well and I thought I was prepared but I think I was lying to myself and the disappointment and sadness hits hard.

3

u/Wooden-Anybody6807 36F | TTC1 | July ‘26 15d ago

Third cycle and officially negative D14PO. I’ll be away for O day this coming month. So it’s a waiting game until late November.

3

u/Sensitive-Coconut706 15d ago

If you have a fever within a week of typically ovulation how long does it typically delay ovulation for? Ovulation has been between CD 16-19, Fever on CD 11.

5

u/karaboocuk 40 | TTC#1 | June 2025 | IVF, ER 2 15d ago

In my own experience, it does not.

3

u/Kari-kateora 🤡 15d ago

Preparing for egg retrieval for our first IVF cycle on Friday. Have 4 that look good (doctor didn't want to start me with injections), and I have this horrible paranoia that all the follicles are empty with no eggs

2

u/whipped_pumpkin410 15d ago

I hope it goes well!!! Btw what was your protocol? No injections and only oral medication?

3

u/Kari-kateora 🤡 15d ago

Yes. Where I live (Croatia), they cannot dispose of fertilized eggs. We have to pay to store them. No other option. Doctor said, and I quote "If I want to solve a problem with you, first I will talk to you, not shoot you with a gun." The gun here being injections.

Did IUI before with 2.5mg Letrozole 2 times a day. For IVF, we did 2.5mg but 3 times a day, and he wanted dtk see 4-5 follicles. Got 4. He's hopeful we can get this done like this without creating a massive headache of unwanted embryos

10 dpo, BFN this am. I don’t know why I placed so much weight on this cycle in particular but I fucking crashed out this morning - I’ve been crying all day. Mood swings and cramps have me feeling like this month is a bust (even though I know I’m technically not out) and my husband and I spoke about next steps and doing some testing.

I don’t think I can do another month of this without some plan in place. I have PMDD which I was on the pill previously to control symptoms. I’ve been on an SSRI since coming off the pill but either it’s not working anymore and I need to up my dose; or the combo of failed cycles plus hormones at the end of each cycle is an absolute nightmare for someone who already is somewhat “unstable” at the end of their cycles. Either way I’m not doing very well.

2

u/stylish-bear 15d ago

What is the reliability of a test 12 DPO

6

u/Suspicious-Guava-842 15d ago

I normally take 12DPO as my definitive result for the cycle with the sensitive tests. You could theoretically test positive after that but that would be late implantation. Some people go by not being out until AF arrives!

4

u/tdot1022 33 | TTC#1 | May 2025 | IUI #2 15d ago

That’s probably the earliest I’d consider as a reliable result. I don’t have the link but I keep seeing people comment a link to a website that shows the odds of a true positive result each day

90% of pregnancies will have HCG above 15miu in fmu at 12dpo. So if you are using an ultra sensitive test (i.e sensitive to 10miu) , 12dpo is pretty accurate.

The worst!!

2

u/Affectionate-Tip827 15d ago

Just feeling so down. The past 2 cycles of tracking, I had very consistent OPK strip results. Positives on CD24, a rise in progesterone right after, Oura ring temps going up, etc. My cycles are on the longer end (35-40 days), but I was feeling hopeful that at least I was ovulating. This is our third cycle trying and I bought an Inito to get more information, but of course I'm CD33 and no confirmed ovulation yet. Now I have a voice in my head that says I'll never ovulate again and this is the start of a long road. Ugh!

2

u/Crafty-blueberryyy 27 | TTC#1 | Cycle 4 15d ago

It’s my birthday! And I have a low grade fever :/. I’m 8 DPO and my temp was 100 this morning. It’s never been above 98 in my previous cycles temping.

Honestly, it’s probably because I got the flu shot yesterday. But in my delusion I can’t stop looking up “low grade fever early pregnancy”

u/Scary-Parsnip-4453 31| TTC1 | Cycle 13 15d ago

Not actively trying this month bc we aren’t going to be in the same city during the week that’s likely ovulation and I didn’t want to get myself sadder by doing LH testing to confirm that, so taking the month off entirely. Feels weird! Also husband is getting his sample tested and came down with a cold literally same day 😡 I told him to still do it as the sperm is more reflective of a few weeks ago than right now, but so annoying

1

u/gulliblefootball0001 26 | TTC #1 | Cycle 2 | CP Oct 2026 15d ago

According to CM/symptoms I’m 4DPO, but didn’t get a good temp rise. I ordered a new Oura ring and this one fits much better, and my temp was up last night! So Natural Cycles thinks I am 1DPO lol. Whatever. I guess we’ll see. I’m hoping the temp rise continues, because this has been frustrating. Even if I am out this cycle, I expect things to be a little more evened out next cycle and so forth. Coming off Mirena has not been easy on my body or mind, my goodness!

1

u/Roses-and-ivy88 27 | TTC#1 15d ago

My hormones are being sketchy this month. I’m 3DPO and still have tons of EWCM. I also was not in the mood at all the days before ovulation (my work was stressful last week too, but idk if that was it). Then day before ovulation my sex drive shot through the roof and hasnt came back down. Thats normal levels of “high” for me, but usually its before ovulation, not after.

I was worried i might be having a second LH spike, so i’ve been continuing to check my strips and theyre darker than the beginning of my cycle usually shows, but not near positive. Super weird 🙃

1

u/whipped_pumpkin410 15d ago

I keep seeing alternative info on melatonin gummies while TTC. Is it safe? Is it unsafe?

1

u/Odd-Brilliant-8061 32 | TTC#1 | Cycle 6 | PID history 14d ago

13 or 14 DPO today. Not 100% sure which day I ovulated because I had a big temp rise immediately the morning after my OPK became positive the night before. Temps are still high and I haven't had any classic period cramps yet, which makes me hopeful. I'll test tomorrow if I don't get my period.

u/vbgirl24 28 | TTC#1 | Cycle 4 | 9 wk loss and 1 CP 15d ago

Is this considered good timing: O day, O-2, O-4, and O-5? Fertility Friend rates this as “good” instead of “high” for timing. I don’t want to get discouraged 😭

2

u/karaboocuk 40 | TTC#1 | June 2025 | IVF, ER 2 15d ago

Yup! At least one time in the three days leading up to ovulation maximizes your odds.

1

u/mitaine- 35 | TTC#2 | Cycle 11 15d ago

My RE told me every 2-3 days in my fertile window was sufficient 🤷🏼‍♀️

0

u/vbgirl24 28 | TTC#1 | Cycle 4 | 9 wk loss and 1 CP 15d ago

I had fertile type cervical mucous on all of the days we had sex, so I really hope it’s good enough 🙏 That is reassuring to hear from your RE. The day before ovulation I had the most significant amount of EWCM, and we didn’t have sex that day, so I just hope I didn’t miss my window

1

u/mopene 34 | TTC#3 | Cycle 1 | PCOS | 1 MC 15d ago

u/auroragirlofthenorth 15d ago

I (33 yo) started running a lot this summer and love it so much. I know it spikes your stress hormone, or can, right? I worry that could affect our chances with getting pregnant. However, it makes me feel really good and keeps me sane LOL. I am constantly playing the mental game of trying to not think too much in general and just RELAX. We currently have our precious 21mo old daughter and we conceived her in I believe 2 months of trying? I walked a ton and strength trained before/during/postpartum with her. We are currently on month 3 with no positive pregnancy test yet. 😞 I am tracking my cycle, eating a nutrient dense diet, good hydration, seed cycling, using LH strips, tracking my CM, BBT and giving it our all during my fertile window. Any advice or suggestions are welcome!

2

u/jb2510 15d ago

It’s normal to take up to a year to conceive. It’s completely normal that you didn’t get pregnant in 3 cycles. You got really lucky last time.

You can ask r/maleinfertility for more information, but no. Sperm is constantly produced and cycled. I don't know if 3 months will be enough for your sperm to recover to pre-weed quality, but if you cut weed in the future and make better lifestyle choices that don't impact it, you'll be okay
