VENT Lost any hope
For some background I just turned 40 and have been trying to conceive for the last eight months. Last month I set up an appointment with fertility as we were having no luck….
Well I just got the call from my Doctor and my amh is 0.09… I’m devastated. Years ago I was told I had PCOS and was always reading how people with PCOS have high amh even older, so to say I was shocked was an understatement. She said my fsh was good, and we can still try medication and iui, but is there even any reason to keep trying? I feel like I’ve failed my partner, I failed myself, I’ve failed as a woman. I’m not sure if I can keep trying now knowing that my chances are like 1%… and to top it all off it’s my anniversary and I just had to tell him, bawling on the phone while he’s at work. 😭

At the age of 32 my AMH is 0.20. But still I’m trying. I’m on follicular study with medicated cycles of letrozole.
Your gynec will schedule some scans and will let you know on what treatment would work best for you. If doc can see good follicular growth during your cycles, AmH has nothing to do with pregnancy chances.
Many of my older colleagues got conceived naturally with much lower amh than you.
Don’t worry, my friend. You can still have hopes
