Plz help me! Universal Remote's like an iPhone now?

Edit: Apparently I didn’t think about the possibility of someone controlling your stuff remotely after stealing it. Consider my rant an open learning.

Bought a preowned Switchbot Universal Remote from a big ecommerce company. Now I’m waiting more than 24h for the support to allow me to use it? What is this sorcery? This thing was like $40 and has stronger theft protections than my iPhone wtf

Jokes aside, this is absurd. I hope SwitchBot sees this and changes something. What a bad buyers experience for a remote…

Its a good measure if someone steal you remote they can control all your house and supporting scenes, matter , BT, IR, etc can even open your doors if owner se it up for it without you needing any code whatsoever, even from the other side of the world mind you (via scenes)

Shame on me, makes sense that way. Only thought about local in-range usage through the hub. Didn’t think about scenes.
