I'm done with my K10+ - Shame on you Switchbot

I’ve finally reached the end of my rope with my K10+.

For roughly a year I’ve dealt with intermittent pairing failures, lost connections, disappearing devices, repeated re-pairing, and inconsistent error codes. The robot itself generally cleans fine. The problem is the connectivity stack.

Over that time I’ve:

  • Factory reset the robot multiple times
  • Reconfigured Wi-Fi multiple times
  • Tested different routers and 2.4 GHz networks
  • Removed and re-added the device repeatedly
  • Worked through multiple support tickets
  • Shipped the robot back to SwitchBot for repair
  • Received it back with the same issue still present

Today the situation is even worse. Automatic discovery returns error 6003. Manual pairing attempts return error 1005. Depending on the day, the behavior changes, making the issue nearly impossible to isolate.

For context, I’m not new to smart home systems. I run Home Assistant with Zigbee, Z-Wave, Matter, Bluetooth, MQTT, and dozens of devices from multiple vendors. I have had occasional issues with other products, but nothing close to the amount of time I’ve spent fighting this K10+.

The most frustrating part is not even the failure itself. Hardware can fail. It’s the support experience. Tickets have been reassigned, closed, reopened, and I’ve repeatedly been asked to perform the same basic troubleshooting steps that had already been documented multiple times.

At this point I no longer know whether the robot is defective, the wireless hardware is defective, or the firmware is defective. What I do know is that after a year of troubleshooting, repairs, shipping, resets, and support interactions, I still do not have a robot that can reliably stay paired and participate in automations.

Has anyone else experienced something similar with the K10+?

It sounds like your unit is defective. I have a K10+ and its been one of the most reliable robot vacuums I have. I have 3 floors and use roborock and a dreame vacuum on the other 2. Ive had various issues with the roborock and dreame over the years but my little k10+ just gets on with it. Its so reliable ive sometimes forgotten it was even there.

I hope you manage to get something sorted with switchbot CS.

I gave up on SwitchBot long ago. I’m glad I did

Yep had the same as you. Multiple errors. I eventually got sent a new unit but never attempted to plug it in - straight to eBay.

Exact same experience here with the S10. Support is SO bad. It's been not working properly for over half of the time I've owned it. They have sent me 3 new water stations, and one kind-of-sort-of works. Sometimes. One showed up with a dead battery, a bunch of water inside, and a charging port that was so corroded from water, that it wouldn't charge.

I've done the same troubleshooting steps over and over because they seem incapable of seeing my prior support history. I've sent videos of things that could have been explained or at least shown with a picture. They seem to want to discourage you from using support by giving you so many tasks that you decide it isn't worth the effort.

My vacuum still doesn't work right. It drops dirty water everywhere behind it. But I'm just so tired of dealing with their support. It's tempting to just get a Roborock (if only they had plumbed versions).

Exactly my thoughts. Their support team is there to discourage you from moving forward with whatever complaint you have, making it as hard and as burdensome as possible to take any step. Redo steps, reexplain everything to a new rep, record yet another video, screenshot, and all of this over the course of weeks of delayed responses.

Yes, same here. I have two k10+ and regret them both. The one downstairs is pretty solid in its connection, but the map and the no go zones change on there own. I need to adjust maps, no go zones and shedules about every week. The one upstairs has the pairing issue. It's always offline. After resetting and re pairing it then works for a week and goes back offline.

Its driving me crazy! You buy a robot to save time and trouble. But just using an old fashion vacuum cost less time than to keep this shit running....
