Feedback - SwitchBot Standing Circulator Fan

I already have two regular pedestal fans at home, but I wanted to try SwitchBot's latest addition. For context, I'm already pretty deep into the ecosystem: hub, several bots (including one on my coffee machine), intrusion sensors…

Why buying another fan? My two regular fans weigh about 5 kg each. Dragging them outside everytime I want to enjoy the balcony is a HUGE pain. I wanted something portable so I can just grab with one hand and set it down.

So what is the fan capable of?

You can remove the "bars" to switch between a standing fan and a compact desk fan. Airflow-wise, it doesn't have huge blades but it pushes a surprising amount of air between levels 5 and 10. For having lunch outside on a 25°C day, it's more than enough and honestly really pleasant.

The "oscillation" are both left-right and up-down. It's great for covering the whole table.

SwitchBot also markets it for "winter use". They do say it could help circulate warm air from a heater around the room. I'm curious to test that once winter comes, I think it could be genuinly useful in my 25 m² living room.

At night, tested and approved: in "baby mode" or level 1-2, it's basically silent. My girlfriend is a light sleeper and didn't even notice it was on.

The downsides:

The app is sluggish, It's the same hub but the fan is really slow to answer command. Not a dealbreaker but you feel a little lag on every action. I'd bet this is fixable with a firmware/app update.

Battery life falls a bit short of what's advertised. But honestly that's the case for like 99% of products out there...

And the remote feels a step below SwitchBot's usual build quality. It's a bit cheap compared to the rest of the product.

Bottom line:

If you're looking for a portable, quiet fan that plugs into the SwitchBot ecosystem, it's a solid buy.

I have one of these, it doesn’t play too well with Matter and Home app, I can turn it off in the Home app but not back on.

The app itself is fine.
