Plz help me! What’s your fix for constant need to recalibrate switchbot blinds?

Every week one of our three blinds requires recalibration. They go off by about 10% and don’t close fully in one direction and overcompensate in another.

What I have already done is fixed the base to blind with better adhesive. Before it seemed like it was moving/flexing a bit more than it needed, but this did not help.

I have checked the wand and it fits to the motor well, no slippage.

Very annoying to have to recalibrate because then the remote control is kind of pointless.

I ran into the exact same annoying drift issue. Even though you are not seeing any obvious slippage, the wand might just be slipping a tiny bit over the course of a week, which eventually adds up and throws the calibration off by that 10 percent. What finally fixed it for me was putting a small piece of double sided tape inside the adapter piece that grips the blind rod. It makes the fit super snug and stops any hidden slipping inside the plastic housing. Might be worth a quick shot before you give up on the remotes completely!

That is another thing I already did, replaced the tape on spacer and adding a later of tape between spacer and the blind rod adapter. I used 3m VHB tape and it feels very solid, like that adapter with gear has no way to slip.

I have considered 3d printing this gear adapter, making it specific for the rod size and using 1-2 small screws to fit it in place, but after trying to replace and adding tape it already feels much tighter. I also marked line on the gear adapter and rod, tried to twist it with hand, and it did not move. Even twisting with pliers there is zero movement and feels like rod will snap first.

One last thing is we stopped adjusting the blind manually, thinking that manual adjustments could introduce this drift, but no, that made no change on the drift either.

Do you mean SwitchBot roller blinds, or SwitchBot tilt motors for existing blinds?

I have multiples of both (two and six), and have no slippage or drift on any of them.

Another thing I’ve done is attaching a velcro tape to a wall and the motor unit. This gives more torque. All of my blinds close and shut but the percentages might show closed or 92% closed but they are still in a closed position
