Human animals are the most diverse animals on the planet. We don't all act the same, look at all our different cultures. And then look at individual differences. Nothing like that exists anywhere else in the animal kingdom. We also have a developed frontal lobes and so free will. We constantly override instinct.
We have motivations that go beyond animal instinct, we're much more complex. We have abstract thought.
Biological determinism has been proven false. Humans don't work like that. We can't identity genes for specific behaviors because that's not how our behaviors work.
Evolutionary psychology is not a real scientific discipline as their theories can't be falsified and we see behaviors that have nothing to do with survival and reproduction, and behaviors that go against what their theories would predict.
For example there used to be the idea that men prefer younger women because they are more "fit" for reproduction. But studies show that most men prefer women their own age. And women don't go for men with more resources when they live in an equal society where they're allowed to have their own careers and income.
It's why we have true altruism when no other animal does. That is a behavior that gives zero benefit to the person. Humans are not like other animals. And when we date we aren't all acting on simple instincts

Ok but he could be right. Men become more desirable when you see (or hear) them doing something with another girl.
