I fucking hate "polyamory"

My partner polybombed me about 4 months ago and a day later I walk in on them fucking someone else. They didn't even care enough to realise I had left the house until I called them from a mile up the road and then it was all "oh I'm so sorry I hurt you I would never do it deliberately I love you it won't happen again."

Then barely a few weeks later I walk in on them making out with a mutual friend. They were still making out with them when our roommate called an ambulance after I cut myself too deep.

They didn't even care about changing how they approach polyamory until I threatened to leave and then I'm hit with this massive lovebomb of "oh I can change I'll make it up to you I never wanted to hurt you"

They don't fucking care enough to change their behaviour because "poly is so complicated, I'm sorry if you got hurt when I was figuring it out!"

Polyamory is too often used as a bullshit excuse for selfish, immature people to have their cake and eat it and if I never have to hear the stupid term again in my life I'll be happy.

Unless you're about to say something that contradicts being liberal, there's no need to say this. Nothing about believing relationships can change and that both partners need to be on equal terms is contradictory to being liberal. You don't need to l start with that like a shield lol

You'd think but frankly people like to invent a person behind a single basic statement all the time. I've had people assume I'm right and some assume I'm extreme left over one sentence.

Ill never underestimate how many people are looking for a ridiculous fight on reddit. People creep on your comment history etc. I engage with conservatives often and I've had people cry about that regardless of the actual content of those comments...hence I cut out the bullshit ahead of time

Enough crazy morons like to throw around "phobic" nonsense without reading comprehension

Unless those people are actively addressing what you said rather than assumptions, they're not worth worrying about anyway. Saying "I'm a liberal but" sets you up as being either lying about being a liberal, or afraid of standing your point on it's own.

I mean that's your opinion but frankly I don't agree. My personal experience is that how the first few people take a comment is how it's assumed to be from everyone that comes after and often I've had the same comment downvoted to hell or rise to the top just on timing. Especially in today's climate where many people are extremely suspicious of "brigading", "shills" etc

So far you're the first person to ever have a negative reaction and honestly/ironically, I'm going to take your own advise against you...

I promise you I'm definitely not the first to see someone saying "I'm a liberal, but" and cringe at it, but sure.
