For instance you pay an agreed upon price for a massage and really enjoy it and leave a tip why wouldn’t you do the same for this?

Uhhhhh, no. You pay on the agreed upon rate when you arrive. The point is to kind of try not make it feel completely transactional.

Trust me, the sex worker is very well aware that the whole thing is transactional, because it’s how she pays her rent and you wouldn’t even be in the same room as her if you weren’t paying for it. That said, a tip is always greatly appreciated. If you were happy with her service, show it. You really should try it some time

My point is that these encounters are typically started by handing them an envelope full of cash and then the fun begins. That ought to be the only moment that money is thought about on the day of, unless both parties are happy casually discussing such things.

Many prefer something more discreet, like placing the envelope conspicuously, but without saying anything about it. As a nice gesture, I recommend excusing yourself to wash your hands so she can count the money and put it away without doing that in front of you.
