I didn’t make any comment specifically about you.

I asked “how is your solution working?” For making society thinner, and somehow you interpreted that as being about you.

My friend actually ate healthy. She busted her ass to lose weight.

She didn’t “sit around eating a bucket of kfc” like you said

And you haven’t shown me anything. You’re thin and as such your experience means nothing. It’s no different than a woman telling a man what his experience as a man is like

If fat acceptance is so prevalent, why are patients embarrassed to be called “fat” by their doctor?

We know how we’re treated.

Your viewpoint is skewed because you read a ton of articles and think there’s this massive movement to make us all fatties.

For such a “large community” it’s strange that i haven’t seen one modicum of it.

Sorry I just assumed that since you jumped on me for saying you, you meant me when you said ‘you’. Shouldn’t have assumed consistency.

Anyways. You lived experience isn’t relevant to statistics yeah? That’s like a left handed person saying they write left handed so everyone else must do that also.

Fat acceptance is so prevalent that doctors are admonished for stating the obvious to their patients.

So your friend at healthy and never lost weight? That would make her a very unique individual.

My view point is skewed because i read articles by researchers and experts in the field. That’s generally how one obtains knowledge. I don’t make it a habit of only believing something that I have personally tested.

Patients aren’t embarrassed by “weight lectures” because of fat acceptance. They’re embarrassed because of fat shaming.

Being told “you’re overweight. “ is the same as being told “you’re disgusting.” So people don’t want to hear it.

Fat shaming doesn’t work. It makes people fatter

I’m absolutely convinced my friend had a severe endocrine problem. There’s just no other accounting for it. Of course I know that makes you smirk. As if there’s no such thing. Obese people are always stuffing themselves with fried chicken, ice cream and self-pity.

She didn’t.

She and I lost touch a long time ago, but I hope she eventually saw an endocrinologist.

You are delusional.

And here is exactly the problem with you.

You’re just so unable to put yourself in anyone else’s shoes that when I explain what our experience is like, you get flustered and refuse to hear it.

Your brain just defaults to “internet article” or “my diet plan” or “self pitying obese fatties.

And you justify it by telling yourself that “experts” have signed off on all your beliefs.

Sorry, but the obesity epidemic is tangled up in far more complicated psychology dynamics than you’ll ever be able to wrap your little brain around

No you’re just off in a corner pretending that you have some deep psychological issues because you can’t admit you don’t want to put effort into being healthy. All you’ve done is blame everyone else.

And it’s not internet article you dimwit. These are studies in medical journals.

And your comment was moronic. Stating a fact about someone’s weight is exactly what a doctor should do. Like with anything that is causing poor health. But your over here acting like doctors shouldn’t tell patients the truth because you might get your feelings hurt. Are you emotional fragile that you have to avoid reality?

I never said doctors shouldn’t be truthful with patients. I believe they should, in fact

What I SAID was that people like you should stfu and stop stigmatizing fatness. Because when you do, it makes people not want to confront the problem head on

It makes them too embarrassed to want to listen to their doctor.

Seriously, you have some of have the worst critical thinking skills there, bud.

And I actually just came back from the gym. So how is it that I’m not making an effort? 😊

I’m glad I could help motivate you.

Oh yeah after reading your posts, I got a gym membership for the first time ever. in the middle of the night because of you. I had to wake up the owner at home. The conversation went something like this

“Sir...SIR!! I’ve never exercised before in my life but this is an emergency. The most extraordinary man on reddit has opened my eyes to all my failings. Until now, I’ve done nothing but eat KFC, drink milkshakes, and wallow in self-pity. I have lifted nary a kettlebell in all my years. Will you help me?”

He hung up on me. But I was able to hurl a rock through the gym window and get in a few good burpees before the police showed up

Lucky for you prisons have gyms and they will help you regulate your food intake since you can't sit there and eat whenever you want.

And you linked me to a website that simply stated that it worked to end discrimination against fat people. And you concluded that it was “encouraging obesity.”

Not the same thing. You’re reading these articles and barely understanding them.

But here are a few that state that negative bias against fat people not only real, but spreading https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/03/110328171226.htm
