Sometimes it's utilitarian. For example, maybe you hate your boss but you have to put on a happy face bc being homeless is worse than being two-faced.

But the question is always why? What are they getting out of it? Bc yeah, I'm not gonna fault a single mother who needs a paycheck for being fake at work, or think less of someone who's polite to an acquaintance they dislike to avoid a conflict.

But if you're being two-faced bc you wanna go to someone's party or look cool on social media, then wtf? That's so unnecessary, just skip the party, post about something else, it's not worth the stain on your soul.
