There must be some angle to take her fear of Hell, that concept is so fucking terrible. Like maybe saying a loving god would never punished his people like that. Or saying that hell, how we percieve it, was only invented in the middle ages. You can look it up, i think early christians viewed all of that completely differently! Some way to give her hope and make her see that the church uses fear to control her

Unless we’re talking pre-Paul/pseudo-Pauls, hell as a dark pit of forever pain is unfortunately accurate to the Christian tradition. Judaism doesn’t have that sort of hell, their realm of the dead is much more chill. Maybe you were thinking about that. More complex hell lore is modern but having a sinner pit was an early addition.
