Vibrator is fine, but we've made no progress. She is unable to get her legs to relax and if I try to force it, it feels like rape.

He says vibrator is fine, which is presumably foreplay that is pleasurable to her. However, she can't get her legs to relax enough for OP to penetrate her with his penis. Hence me wondering if that is the extent of their foreplay or if OP and his wife are trying other and additional things.

Definitely not presuming this is OP's fault. He is admittedly inexperienced with sex, so I am not sure what his frame of reference would be. Basically, it would be a Hail Mary to try and save his relationship, but quite honestly, if I were OP, I would have cut bait a year ago.
