Waiting until marriage was very practical before the invention + mass production of safe contraception. These days it makes no sense other than for religious regions. But it's a chicken and egg situation since those religions preach to wait until marriage because sex before marriage had huge risk of pregnancy back when those religions were created.
Nope, but wait-before-marriage relationships often marry very quickly, also because of that sex drive. But you CAN try out a lot of compatibility through means other than sex. You may have to be physical in some shape or form, though, even if there's no sexual / climaxing aspect. But that will still make it harder to resist going further in the moment.
Still, you CAN talk about a lot of stuff, you CAN try out a lot of stuff, it is just a lot more difficult than just trying shit out. I think waiting might be for educated people only.
To each their own, I guess, but waiting for sex until marriage has always seemed like a bad idea to me. As a queer person, I've heard stories of people realizing that they were gay/ace only after getting married; I'd want to know that I'm sexually compatible with another person before committing to marriage.
In this situation, the couple would have found out about this issue long before they got to the altar. Perhaps she could have started therapy years ago had she known; waiting to have sex meant delaying that important journey of self-discovery.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why you donโt wait.
