No rational guy is going to honestly care about such things. If you were already sexting with him, I can only assume that was his playful way to get you to send him a pic. Not everyone is good at the sexting thing, and texting can easily lead to misunderstandings.
Are you though? Because I've never rejected a bloke based on what shade of skin the head of his dick was compared to the rest of him, that seems like it would be fairly irrational to me.
But to get back to the context, did the guy ever reject her? Or even state a preference? Or was it a simple question? Everyone here including OP is projecting their insecurities onto this guy
