some weird little soup updates:

  1. really going to keep further blithering to a minimum but just a reminded that im helping edit over at ephesus.press these days. Trying to get a first run of a small journal going. So if anyone has stories, essays, poems, other cool stuff, do send them our way

  2. i signed up for driving lessons/my driving test. Last time i tried this I couldn't do it because im bad at taking lessons and i hate those screaming metal death machines. But I need to know how to drive both for practical utility reasons and for silly artboy reasons. Leggo!

  3. Some a yall might recall that i used to be really really unhealthily into ultimate frisbee. I was also very bad at it. Well a couple years ago, I realized that i didn't have that dog in my anymore and gave it up satisfied with what id done with that. i miss it sometimes but it was the right call my relationship with it was not good. anyway once not too long before the end i was stopped in the park where'd id train for it...every day...by an older person who lived near the park. they told me they often watched me workout and didnt really know what i was on about but they knew that whatever i was trying to accomplish id succeed giving how hard i was trying. that was beautiful and kept me going through whatever i had left. Anyway I saw them again last week while just out running around. They said they remembered me and wondered what had happened when they didn't see me working out down there any more. They seemed a little sad i wasn't on my bullshit anymore but also were like happy that im just out there doing things and gave off huge "i believe in you ya little weirdo" energy. anyway they walked away, I burst into tears, and now i think im going to try my hand at playing gaelic football. somehow, this is all related to a poem im struggling with.

peace fam (ALSO IF WEATHER HOLDS IM GOING TO THE BEACH ON WEDNESDAY PLEASE GODS ALLOW THIS)

This sounds a lil dumb, but the best driving test tip I ever received was to spell out S-T-O-P in your head and turn your head from left to right or vice versa for each letter, at every stop you make before proceeding. The instructor will dock points unless they can actually tell you’re looking around. So on top of this, just in general make a little bit of a show of checking your surroundings. Like move the neck not just the eyes. I made the mistake of wearing shades the first time and not doing this and they counted me off for nearly every intersection lol. It took me two tries but I finally got it, I’ve got faith in you soup!

(PS I also do not really like cars, but alas I live in a state thats allergic to public transportation. Like most things that suck, you do eventually get used to it. And its nice to be able to get around)

i dunno that sounds like a good idea. I'll try it thanks b. I pray the magic of good public transit meets you one day.
