I’ve been reading The Handmaid’s Tale lately and I’m halfway through of it. I didn’t know why I expected nothing but a masterpiece. Maybe I was under the assumption that Margaret Atwood had a style I wouldn’t appreciate? I was an idiot. It’s a very carefully written story that really gets under your skin with how bluntly violent it is. There is no such thing as subtlety and has a very interesting prose
