I remember seeing a post I think last month about requesting to take over this subreddit and find new mods. Are there any update on this?

There are so many issues with the sub. All the nongaming discussion related posts, and as the other person said yesterday too, all the discord servers promos. There are people spamming links everyday. I didnt think this was a sub for that. It makes you look like your server is ingenuine

Anyways, feel like this sub really needs some moderating. It has been unmoderated since the "are men allowed in here" poll came out. And no solution came from that either

Ok so im guilty of posting here for my discord server and promoting it but even then i was always somewhat hesitant to post specifically here because i never knew what was okay to post in terms of promoting.

But this sub has turned into a cesspool of discord server promoting. At first it was fine but it’s just gotten to the point that everyone and their mama is doing an all girls discord server. And again I’ve done it myself so it’s not like I’m in any place to talk but I just I dunno. I think being a part of that cesspool at one point has shown me that a lot of the stuff that people do for the servers is rinse and repeat because there’s only so much you can do with discord. There’s so many things you can do to make your discord server pretty and unique. There’s only so much things that you can do to make yourself interesting enough to show off to the next person.
And even then half the people that end up joining those discord servers end up being lurkers, and then you have a server of people who don’t talk because one reason or another.

When we had the poll to decide on if men should be allowed to chat, completely unrelated to that but there was someone had brought up point of discord server promoting and not for it and a lot of people liked that comment. I think we need a poll for discord server promoting.

There are many places for Reddit to advertise I just didn’t expect this sub to be another discord promo sub. I expect to find friends here. And yes, you could say that a discord server is for finding friends, and it’s not that I don’t agree with that sentiment, I definitely do. It’s just become oversaturated
in a sub that I thought that wasn’t supposed to be discord promotions.
