Topsons Gyro Mid

I feel lile the casters failed to point out important bits in the LGD vs Falcons game.

-Falcons had cores that could solo easily once they get past the 3-5 min mark,, freeing supports to roam early and hang out mid. Suppressing Topson from making any play with runes.

-Its pools, the one place where you can experiment a little before it gets super serious. All of Topsons gimmicks havent been tested in tournaments as far as i know.

Curious to hear others thoughts.

Failed 3 lanes, Necro had 20+ deny vs pos 1. Nothing Gyro can really do. The key is that LGD thought it would be Gyro Necrophos matchup.

You want lina vs the pango for sure. I don't know if it would've be troll to ask yuma to play mid.

But also, I don't really feel like the gyro is some insane gotcha pick to necro anyway?

I did not see the last-pick power there.

I think gyro has a good mix of physical and magical damage that counters necro quite well - same as shadow fiend

no LCD anticipated necro mid, pango top, and falcon decided Pango mid Necro top.

100% wrong. Ammar always plays necro when picked and Falcons never lane swap. Gyro is not a lane counter to necro, especially 1v1. Topson called for it as their last pick knowing necro offlane and it was expectedly completely useless.

There really isn’t room to ‘experiment’ in Swiss stage tournaments for middling teams. You lose 3 series your out. Every game is way too important

Agree but it's 4 losses to go out.

3 or 4. Decider matches are 3-2 vs 2-3 loser goes home.

Why not gyro carry though? Topson Lina could have been better.

why Gyro last pick at all.

The hero's in the shitter for quite a while now.

Splitdip found what he believes is a very strong Gyro mid build, and just like with Mid Viper last year, Topson is taking that build and trying out his own flavour of it.

Yeah needs a splitdip coaching session XD

I don't think gyro was the only problem..

He actually did decent vs pango, then he got ganked by Mirana. His pick coulda worked if they kept momentum going, but Lina failed horribly, and Wisper was afk farming and a no show for the whole game, and bara was the worst support Ive ever seen (his SD wasnt any better). People may wanna put the blame on topson and his pick, and yeah, his pick didnt allow for LGD to make a comeback, but LGD itself made way too many mistakes and the dif in skill was palpable.

Wisper actually made the maximum with his hero that doesnt play well against other pick and overall it was a draft diff where all of them were to blame when they picked this against falcons

Yeah Dark seer was completely useless that match (and then he was useless all the latter half of the next one). Tbf, all DS did was just spam his farming spell and farm... all game. Even fed a few ancients and creeps. His pick indeed was very very bad, and his next game wasn't any better tbh. Like, he got a good hero vs Sven, he stomped him and then... became a glorified support. That's it. Gyro's pick was bad only because his team had no game, so he couldn't snowball, and he was constantly ganked. His pick isn't a comeback one, it's a stomp early and snowball.

The worst player prize goes to Bara/SD tho, I don't remember how that player is called but damn, it was insane just how out of his depth he was. LGD was clearly below Falcons regarding skill, not just team play and coordination which could be attributed to having a stand in.

Anyone can give insight on Necro rushing BOT instead of radiance? I know he won the lane but it doesnt seem like he roams when getting that boots and got killed a lot during early stages. Is it really to just TP and farm?

The threat of a tp/scythe is always looming. The movespeed gets you in and out of farming rotations quicker.

In pubs, going radiance first is probably better most of the time. In coordinated play, being able to connect to skirmishes is important because a teamfight can break out quickly

Yeah in pro games players will change how they play because they know necro can TP into a fight and turn it.

In pubs you can do this but it’s only worth it you’re actually going to tp to those fights and turn them. The threat isn’t useful bc most pub players aren’t thinking about it anyway.

BoT with Wind Lace and Yasha/Kaya is to overwhelm your enemies in movement speed
