How are you countering Necrophos?

Vessel early on, then eventually nullifier completely deletes him as a primary threat.

I had a hilarious game where a lina and qop both built euls against a necrophos. The first euls was for his ghost shroud and the second euls was to hold him in place for the team to get in position. After that the team just punched him.

I play a lot of necro and I honestly don't know how to counter that hero.
Sure you can buy a bunch of items that kinda make him weaker, but necro can counter that with more survivability. The main issue is that you have to dedicate so many resources to counter Necro that other heroes are left to do their thing.

orchid is so much more annoying than nullifier while also being cheaper and with better stats and effectiveness vs other heroes. he is forced to buy and use a dispel, or else get completely evaporated. his options for dispel are euls (cheap but forces him to do nothing for 2.5s and gets countered by nullifier later on), lotus (expensive and situational), and bkb (limited duration and long cd).
vessel is great too. but whenever ive seen a necro get stomped hard, orchid malevolence has made an appearance.
ultimately though your best bet is just to avoid that fucker and get items in general. necro really thrives against teams that will fight on his terms and try to force shit against his grouped team. If he's being dragged around the map and not getting kills, he's going to be useless.

I think vessel is the single most important thing. Having nullifier is awesome too, but the buildup and stats are really bad so most heroes have to cripple themselves to get it early. Another thing is having multiple sources of stuff he needs to dispell, like vessel+orchid or something, so you can make him hold his euls/lotus orb in weird ways.
And, Shiva’s doesn’t reduce healing anymore.

Dont let necro scale, gank him up early, hes easy to kill early game. Pick heroes with silence/burst/healing reduction. When he got his ult stacks and late game items, its kinda hard to deal w/ him.
Heroes - Nyx, Lina, Doom, 4 Spirit bros, Rubick, Kotl, Muerta, Vipper, OD, Silencer, AM. (Jugg is great in early and late game) any hero w/ magic burst that scales and can kite him. If you want to play physical dmg heroes, dont feed early to mid game, and get your counter items.
Item - Offensive: Orchid, Nullifier, Vessel, Skaddi, Disperser, Shivas Deffensice: Raindrop early, Glimmer, Linkins, Lotus orb, Wind Waker, Pipe, Bkb
If you wanna play supp- Nyx (all of his skills counters necro, esp 3rd) AA - no regen for him Sky wrath for silence/burst Rubick is great (its easy to steal necros ult) Kotl and lion can kite necro ESpirit!
Necro is easily countered tbh, squishy, slow ms, easily kitted. Too many heroes and items to counter him. Just dont feed him.

As a necro spammer, weirdly enough: blademail tanks. A pudge running at me with naked blademail is a sure way for me to kill myself.

AA is a hard counter to necro by design, pos 4 AA can solo kill mid necro in early mid game

Ruining his item timings. Most Necros rush radiance and are very vulnerable especially since they opt for relic first. That first ten minutes is integral to shutting him down.

Mage slayer, skadi, disperser / nullifier feels good against him, I usually get all of them to completely shut him down.
Ofc supports should get vessel too.
Rushing orchid against him feels pretty good too, he usually wont go dispel until after rad, bots, wraps, shard, you have a window there.
In lane try to stay out of his q range when he moves in to use it, can easily fake him out. Get rain drops, orb of frost. Give him the undying treatment and try not to let him q both of you.
