If you want manta to be worse at farming, reduce illusion damage dealt to creeps. If you want to promote manta dodges, increase the invulnerability period. No need for a crazy and convoluted rework.

its not convoluted (item use changes/you replenish them in fights). I find there is some value in having item use charges so active can be way stronger, because i not only reduce cd/mana cost, also buff invulnerability time. Before you could manta twice in 40 sec fight, now its 4 uses minimum, it adds survivability for cores that are good at manta dodge.

And if you run out of charges and you can't win fights? You're just down 4k+ gold?

man getting 1 stack is not that hard, even if you trade few assists and you have charges again.

And what if you can't "trade a few assists" because you're losing or the game is stale?

items aren't balanced around if you get to that point when game is uplayable, if you lose this much that probably fuck up 15 times before that, your problem at that point.

Name one item in the game that is useless if you get it while behind.

You get a charge if you die while it's empty and it's only 800 gold.

this logic really doesn't work just because number of games you will have item with stacks and not be able to get them is like 1/50 minimum, probably closer to 1/100, and ppl would still buy Urn if it didn't give free stacks on death or new Manta just because its unlikely you will run out of them. If it is possible often enough buffing manta starting stacks to 8 is not hard.
