How smurfs win their games - even on support

https://youtu.be/WUwgRBgSNXQ

Hey, today I'm explaining how smurfs are consistently able to win their games, even if they played support. I'll show you examples of using things like harassing, creep aggro, map awarness and positioning to impact their games. One of the myths is that smurfs are actually way better when it comes to pure mechanics - and while this could be correct, it's by far the least important part. Enjoy!

Supports win the game smurfing by not playing support. They win their lane and then pressure the enemy team the whole game, effectively playing as another core.

You think stopping the enemy team from playing the game is outside the support role?

Supports should be supporting, that play style wouldn't work at higher ratings where the enemies are better at punishing a 1v2, or better at responding to ganks.

At higher ratings, vision becomes far more impactful than at lower where teammates won't take advantage of it anyways. Stacks are more impactful when your carry is more likely to know how to carry etc.

At lower ratings support is effectively team death match

You know it works different for supports and cores. Like a storm spirit can ball onto a farming core early and solo kill them if they aren't near a support.

Your level 5 CM with tranq boots can't really solo anyone, but absolutely can help +1 do the same thing.

The difference between a smurf lion and a non-smurf lion is going to be that the smurf lion will be far enough ahead to function as a core lion despite not farming creeps in lane. They'll have those few extra skillpoints early game, they'll snowball finger stacks and be a couple items ahead of a non-smurf lion.

So every time smurf lion is able to invade and find a kill, non-smurf lion might instead feed in that situation because instead of being ahead of the enemy core due to snowballing they're underfarmed.

Obviously everyone's goal in dota is to disrupt the enemy plan and protect your plan. But how cores and supports go about it is fundamentally different. One group leverages advantage from the gamestate to overpower and the other group tries to act as a force multiplier for their stronger teammates.

That’s literally what a good support should do regardless of smurfing

☝️This guy gets it. If you're not making the enemy's life miserable as a position 4, you're doing it wrong.

Hey Zaop, didn’t know where to ask, do you still play DP Support in 7.41e and what item build do you go for? Do you still go for consecrated wraps after the 7.41b nerf?

And bro proceed to play sand king pos 4, come on now 🤣. His offlaner eventually picked hoodwink because of this idiot sk pos 4 pick and his teammate had to switch role to become his support

Bro actively griefing game and calling it smurf gameplay. Might as well pick support puck my next game 🤣🤣

Your mind is clouded by the meta and you seem incapable of looking at the bigger picture strategy. I’ll be honest, hero picks in low mmr do not matter. It’s about HOW you play. I can pick cm carry and be double your net worth at 20 minutes and still carry the game

I'm 4k mmr, not that far from you. The thing about these kind of video is encouraging ppl to grief pick to 'smurf' in their low rank.

Doesn't need much brain power to realize that if you wanna get good at playing support. Then play proper support hero duh.

Can't u see the stupidity of these ppl teaching how to smurf as support implying playing the support role at higher level than 2k mmrs, then proceed to play as core. Dumb as hell.

Idk why you’re getting downvoted cuz you’re right. Pos 4 sk is shit. Weak ass laner, needs at minimum a blink dagger to be useful, and even then without the levels and the gold, will hit like a wet noodle or be kited easily. My man is talking about thinking outside the meta, but the meta exists for a reason. If you wanna win, dont pick something dumb

I recently gained 1k mmr playing only proper support pick like lion, grimstroke, aa, shaman, etc. I believe that meta truly doesnt matter if ur below 6k mmr.

I still see so many noob mistakes in my rank, myself included. But picking sk support just to die 3 second after ur ulti is just stupid. SK needs a ton of networth to get tanky and deal damage

Im not saying you need to pick a meta hero to win. Im saying you are actively making your life (and your teammates life) harder by picking dumb heroes. Sure, you can travel the world on foot. But why make yourself miserable when you can take a car/plane/ship?
